TMCP #578: Fifteen Years Of The Muscle Car Place With Jeff Allison – How To Build Cars And Gain A Family
This week marks the fifteenth anniversary of The Musclecar Place podcast and all of the adventures that have ensued since then. Fifteen years ago I had a dream to start a radio show where I could talk about fast classic cars and meet people that build, race or buy and sell those vehicles. The one “guest” that has been on the show more than any of them, and has had a bigger impact than all of them, is Jeff Allison. Jeff is the one that stepped up and took a huge chance and changed both of our lives forever. In this interview we take a trip down memory lane and recollect how we met and built a race car that went to SEMA and made a family out of a podcast.
TMCP #543: New Show Debut – The “Factoryish” Podcast – The Real Life, Times, and Cars Inside a Hot Rod Shop!
This week, I have the outstanding privilege of of introducing a brand new podcast on The MuscleCar Place Network. It’s called “Factorish” and is hosted by my great friends Kirk Hansen and Zip Simons. This new show is an all new concept for us, and one that Kirk has pioneered, with Zip providing the insight that only a hot rod shop owner can. It’s a full talk show, built for YouTube and audio podcast release but featuring automotive reviews and drives as well. Think of it like The MuscleCar Place, combined with My Classic Car, combined with Entrepreneur magazine.
You can plan to watch and listen to two new episodes of Factoryish each month. Be sure to visit their website often and bookmark ALL of the platforms below!

TMCP #502: Jeff Allison Returns – His Journey of Automotive Adventures: Building Cars, Shops, and YouTube Channels!
Every fifty episodes or so I check in with my great friend and automotive brother Jeff Allison. Over ten years ago Jeff offered to build my family Chevelle into something spectacular. Since then his shop (Allison Customs) ha grown and he’s become a famous YouTube star to boot. Believe it or not, but he can even cook! This interview is a catch-up on my favorite renaissance man.
TMCP #450: Jeff Allison – SEMA Cars, Mustang Restorations, And 80MPH Go Karts – Ask Rick, Can You Restore The Soul Out Of A Car?
This week I had the pleasure of once again talking with my great friend, my brother from another mother, and the owner of Allison Customs, Jeff Allison! It has been a little while since we just talked and ten years since we started collaborating on the build of my Chevelle. Jeff launched his business (officially) in spring of 2011 and my Chevelle was the first car his company took on. 10 years later it’s been a life changer for us both! I asked him on to discuss the journey, how 2020 has affected him, and also….how to REALLY set up 2-stroke racing go-kart I bought from him to enjoy with my son!
TMCP #422: Jeff Allison: Building an AWD 1968 C-20 For YouTube; Pro-Touring Update – Street Metal Concepts on what it’s REALLY like to Build a SEMA Car! Does It Again! This Time On YouTube with a Truck!
Take the Holley Survey and help us win you better prizes! http://bit.ly/TMCP_Podcast_Survey
TMCP: This weeks interview is with long time friend, supporter of the show, and builder of my Chevelle, Jeff Allison. He has launched a brand new project just for his YouTube Channel – the 2020 C-20. With this project he’ll put a ’68 C-20 GMC Truck atop a 2006 GMC Yukon XL DENALI AWD chassis and showcase the entire build on video! You can find Jeff’s video channel at YouTube.com Project Car TV.
Now…with all of that said, a good part of this interview delved into the REASON to have a YouTube channel as a shop owner, period. Realistically…most people that start YouTube channels are hoping to become a big YouTube star, not to use it as a marketing tool for their business. In the case of Jeff….it’s marketing now….but perhaps may convert to stardom later. Listen in for the discussion including the costs in time, money, and effort. Shop owners – listen to this one closely!
TMCP #400: We Made it to 400! Celebration Show with Jeff Allison of Allison Custom
This weeks show features the return of Jeff Allison, Owner and operator of Allison Customs, Airline Pilot, and You Tube sensation. I asked Jeff to be on the show as a fitting tribute as to how far the show (and Jeff) have come in the last 400 episodes. Back in episode 72 (Feb 2011) I announced that the Chevelle was going to be built and that Jeff had offered to build it for me. Since then it has not only been an amazing experience with the car but a fun journey with a great friend.
For a long time Jeff Allison ran a construction company as his main source of income and flew airplanes as a side business and had dreams of owning a hot rod shop. Jeff eventually moved up to captain and dropped building houses but now had time to work on cars as the side job. He said that eventually he wants to retire from flying and go full time in the custom business. The automotive jobs he takes are never rush jobs and the customers understand that it may take awhile since this is not the main source of income.
Jeff Allison, Scott Bowers, Rob Kibbe, in the Ron Francis Booth
As a car enthusiast, Jeff liked to fill his down time with automotive information and The Muscle Car Place became one of his main sources of entertainment. In January of 2011 Jeff offered to help bring my Chevelle dreams to life and so began a great friendship. The build was featured start to finish on The Muscle Car Place and over the next four years it went from mostly rust to a stunning SEMA show car that attracted attention for TMCP and Allison Customs as well as Ron Francis Wiring who hosted the car in their booth. Today I use the Chevelle as intended as an autocross car and it attracts attention where ever I drive it.

This first installment is Bernie’s interviews with the Ring Brothers, and Martin Klein of Recaro. I also caught up with Jeff Allison of Allison Customs and Jeremy McLleand in the Ron Francis Wiring booth.
TMCP #348: Jeff Allison Returns! Full Details on Jeremy McLellan’s ’66 Chevelle Build – And it’s Debut in the Ron Francis Wiring Booth at SEMA 2018!
Want to hear something crazy? In this show, you will. I’m launching a product with a team of buddies, and it’s been years in the making. AND….it’s not an automotive product either. It’s a baseball tee! It’s called the Magic Tee, and it’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen on the market. Listen to the show for the story. We go to Kickstarter on Feb, 27, 2018. Here’s the website too! www.magictee.io
And now back to the cars! This weeks interview is with a name show followers will recognize, Jeff Allison of Allison Customs. Jeff is the one responsible for making my dream of rebuilding my families Chevelle into a Pro-Touring competing, SEMA show attending, and magazine article page turner wonder car. He is doing it once again this time for Jeremy McLellean’s 1966 Chevelle and it too is going to SEMA. If you want to build cars for a living – on the side – you can. Listen in.

I was able to catch up once again with old friends of the show, see some amazing cars, and hear about some of the great products. TMCP #276: Jeremy McLellan and Jeff Allison 1966 Chevelle Build, Long Distance Affair – PT Update with Ed Capen
This weeks interview is part one of a two part interview with Jeremy McLellan and Jeff Allison on the progress of Jeremy’s 1966 Chevelle resto-mod build. In Episode 260 I talked to him about his goal to own a car that works as a daily driver but can get down on an auto cross course too. This week I find out how that is going from Jeremy’s point of view.
