Every now and then you have to take a break from the cars, smell the roses, and look around the real world to see what else is out there. In our case that means heading to funny movies from our childhood that we still quote daily. Since MLB Standings are just around the corner….that was the perfect excuse to review our favorite baseball movie ever made: Major League! Sit back and regale in Finnegan’s 20-minute soliloquy on the movie complete with every favorite line including: “Up your butt, Jobu!” Bob Eucker was in prime form as the radio announcer, Charlie Sheen was at his best as the bad boy, and Tom Berenger was the ace aging catcher. You’ll love it. We did. And if you don’t love it….car stuff will be back next week anyway, baby!

K&F Show #83: Sadie Hogg Day: S4 Episode 7 of the Dukes of Hazzard

Guess what? We actually have a sponsor in today’s show! And…it’s one you’ll love to get right here on your phone. It’s called the Unnamed Automotive Podcast and is hosted by our friends (and real automotive journalists) Sami Haj-Assaad and Benjamin Hunting. If you dig hearing about new cars they’ve driven, places they’ve seen, and their comedic zings on the automotive industry in general you’ll love these guys. Check it out! Visit www.unnamedautomotivepodcast.com and choose the platform you like to listen on best.

Dukes Review: Remember high school when they had the Sadie Hawkins dance and the girls had to ask the guys to go? This is the Hazzard County version of that, only with waaaaaaay more girls in shorts that you ever remembered in high school. And instead of a dance they’re running the town for a day. Mostly this is an episode that seems to exist only to shoot film of girls walking in shorts. Anyway, here’s the gist: Boss Hogg has been stealing from the county funds for years and (shocker) on Sadie Hogg day finds out he’ll be audited. In a quick turn of brilliance he decides to make Daisy Duke in charge of the county funds, then has the bank robbed of said funds leaving Daisy liable. Even worse? Acting Deputy Miss Tizdale accidentally confuses Bo and Luke for leaving the bank with the money…when they were actually chasing the bank robbers. Fast forward 30 minutes and it does all get resolved with several more pairs of shorts. Fin.

In addition to our undying love, Patreon supports will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us – no holds barred! For those of you that love automotive nerd trivia, rejoice. Corndog is back for another “Deep Dive” episode of Nerd Trivia, this time to discuss the 2 (but actually three) vehicles that were Daisy Duke’s cars. It turns out that Daisy’s first car ever was a real 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner, purchased right off of a used car lot in Atlanta along with several other vehicles that would become famous (including the Boss Hogg Cadillac). Corndog is in the process of replicating this very car now (with the May 1978 Florida inspection sticker and all). A few episodes into the show the ’74 was replaced with a ’71 Satellite….which looks totally different but was given the same paint job. Then halfway through Season 2 it was tossed off of a clip and replaced with a brand new CJ-7 Golden Eagle Jeep for some reason, which she would drive until the end of the show.

Enjoy Nerdlandia!

K&F Show #81: The Final DukesCast that Launched Kibbe and Finnegan: Our Review of S1 Episode 4 of the Dukes of Hazzard!

As you’ve heard by now….we’re taking a little break from running traditional ads right now. That means that right now the only support for this show is coming from you! Consider this your no-guilt-yet-kinda-begging request to take a look at contribution to our show on Patreon. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supports will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us – no holds barred! This is it. Before there was the Kibbe and Finnegan show there was the “DukesCast” segment on The MuscleCar Place, and today’s K&F is an inclusion of the very last one! This is Episode 4 from Season 1 of the Dukes titled “Repo Men”, which originally was featured in The MuscleCar Place (Episode 282)! It is one of the most pivotal of Dukes episodes ever for two reasons: 1) It’s because Lee 1 (the General that makes the jump at the end of the opening credits of the show) was repurposed as the Richard Petty race car…that 20 years later would be found, restored, and sold to PGA stud Bubba Watson, and 2) this episode featured Jerry Rushing as “Ace Parker.” Jerry was a real honest-to-God moonshiner, had a speedy Mopar as his runner, told all of his tales to Gy Waldron (the creator of the Dukes), and claims to be the real life inspiration for the best driving, most lady attracting, blondest character of them all: Bo Duke. Jerry also thought he was going to have a recurring role in the show…but this was his one and only appearance.

Hope you enjoy!

K&F Show #80: The Great Bank Robbery: S4 Episode 6 of the Dukes of Hazzard

This is your conscience reading to you. Support Kibbe and Finnegan on Patreon. They need you. They miss you. And they want to hear from you in the monthly Patreon only Q&A episode! Again, this is your conscience speaking. Do what you know needs to be done. Visit http://www.patreon.com/kfshow and make some dreams come true. (Still your conscience.)

If you’re thinking this is the one where Daisy falls in love, or that this is the one where the Dukes almost lose the farm, or whatever the third regularly used plot line is, you are in for a treat. This has none of those. And other than a sweet drift and a sickening crash into a tree it barely has any General Lee either. We didn’t love it, so here’s the summary. An old man that you’ve never seen before (or will again) gets fired by Boss Hogg,  one day shy of shy 30 years on the job. This makes him ineligible for his $30,000 pension. So, he robs the bank vault of the $30K. The Dukes put it back before Boss notices. The end.

Hey again, this is still your conscience. You considered it before, then paused. I know you, man. I can read you like a book. Go support those boys on Patreon and put me at ease! We’ll both feel better. http://www.patreon.com/kfshow.

K&F Show #79: The Fugitive: S4 Episode 5 of the Dukes of Hazzard

This episode is – once again – powered by you! We’re all in on Patreon support and now have $1, $2, $5, and now $10 monthly options available. You can also just do something of your own choosing too. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supporters will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us too! The July episode posted last week and new supporters can absolutely go get all the back episodes (we started in May). Thank you, thank you!

Dukes Review: Ah, the repeating tale of a foxy co-ed trying to make her way through the south by selling t-shirts to raise money for her nursing school tuition. It’s a tale as old as time. Throw in a car jump here and there, a motocross, and a motorcycle chop-shop and it makes for a very entertaining Dukes episode. The foxy chick, who we’ll refer to as Starbuck’s girlfriend for now, witnesses Boss Hogg’s scheme of stealing, repainting, and re-selling motorcycles. The Dukes accidentally rescue her, and then purposefully help her prove her innocence using a serious stash of red form fitting t-shirts, 2-stroke dirt bikes, and a legitimate amount of tomfoolery. And the General Lee does something too. You’ll mostly be distracted by the t-shirts in this one.

One last thing. The summer season is coming to a close…and that means that it’s even more important than ever to get a t-shirt on your back to enjoy the summer sun while you can! To get a shirt just go to http://www.kfshowshirts.com. We’ll be adding in stickers, decals, and other cool stuff in the future too. Want different colors? Let us know!

K&F Show #78: The Lost DukesCast Archive Returns: Our Review of S1 Episode 3 of the Dukes of Hazzard!

As you’ve heard by now….we’re taking a little break from running traditional ads right now. That means that right now the only support for this show is coming from you! Consider this your no-guilt-yet-kinda-begging request to take a look at contribution to our show on Patreon. We have $1, $2, $5, and $10 monthly options available – or you can just do something of your own choosing too. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supports will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us – no holds barred! Our next one comes out next week for the July 2018 show. You can jump in by visiting www.patreon.com/kfshow. Thank you, thank you!

So…remember those first four lost episodes of “DukesCast” of the MuscleCar Place that we did prior to launching the Kibbe and Finnegan show? Nay, you say? Well friend, let me recant. These DukesCast episodes were the ones where we reviewed the first four episodes of the Dukes of Hazzard, found our footing as broadcast partners, and launched K&F to a multiple Charger owning real world scenario. Since that time, presidents have changed, babies have been born, and the USA landed yet again on the moon (don’t believe what you haven’t heard). This, this is our chance to right the wrongs and replay for you the third installment of DukesCast with a full review of Episode 3 of the Dukes, as we did back on The MuscleCar Place (Episode 280)! In other news…Charger have to be fixed right now, people are traveling, and we couldn’t record this week. So this’ll have to do. ;)!

One last thing. We’re supposed to push the merch even more now that we’re not running ads! So, to get a shirt just go to http://www.kfshowshirts.com. We’ll be adding in stickers, decals, and other cool stuff in the future too. Want different colors? Let us know!

K&F Show #77: Corndog’s Deep Dive Into Nerdlandia; Uncovering All of the Filming Locations of the Dukes Of Hazzard!

Our non ad run of shows continues unabated…and you guys continue to make it happen through our Patreon campaign! Each day we see more and more people jumping in, and from the bottom of our hearts (and wallets), thank you. If you’re not yet onboard, consider this your continued no-guilt-yet-kinda-begging request to take a look at contribution to our show on Patreon. We have $1, $2, $5, and $10 monthly options available – or you can just do something of your own choosing too. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supports will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us – no holds barred! Our first one came out in May, and our June show is live now too. If you join in now you can get all the back shows as well.

Finnegan is out filming this week so that means we have another show with our Dukes of Hazzard Nerdlandia Advisor, Dr. Chester J. Corndog, Esquire. In this epic OCD-fest discussion you’ll hear him run through all of the filming locations used in the run of the Dukes of Hazzard TV series. Remember, the town of Hazzard for the bulk of the run was on the Warner Bros backlot, but the country scenes, Boars Nest, Duke Farm, and pretty much everything else were filmed out on the worlds snakiest California-based-Georgia roads that Hollywood could offer. As you’ll learn the were multiple moves of the show throughout the series which explains why the show had a different look as things went on. Kibbe’s favorite i Lake Sherwood, but it wasn’t the first. Locations all in all included:

-Covington, GA

-Disney Ranch (also known as Golden Oak)

-Lake Sherwood

-Valencia

-Indian Dunes (for jumps and stunts)

And…here’s the push for more merch! Stickers are coming, but for now it’s still just our Generally Awesome line of non trademark infringing shirts. Just visit http://www.kfshowshirts.com to get one…or ten! Want different colors? Let us know!

K&F Show #76: The Independence Day Grab-Bag Show; Emails, General Lee Paint Codes, and Skynet is Real

Happy Independence Day! Consider this the first round of cheap fireworks for your celebration enjoyment. And with that segway established…here’s the plug. This episode is powered by you! We’re all in on Patreon support and have dropped the regular ads. We have $1, $2, $5, and now $10 monthly options available – or you can just do something of your own choosing too. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supporters will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us too! If you sign up now you can go get the back Patreon-only shows too. Thank you, thank you!

For those of you that like the witty banter more than the Dukes or Move reviews, you are in luck: this episode is all banter! Due to filming schedules, political strife, and a lack of flux in our capacitor, we were unable to get the Dukes episode thoroughly prepped for your enjoyment in time for this one (i.e. Finnegan didn’t have time to watch it yet). Don’t worry – we’ll get it on the next one. Also, for all if you who came to see me (Kibbe) at the Des Moines, IA Good Guys Heartland Nationals car show, thank you! Have a Happy 4th!

One last thing. We’re supposed to push the merch even more now that we’re not running ads! So, to get a shirt just go to http://www.kfshowshirts.com. We’ll be adding in stickers, decals, and other cool stuff in the future too. Want different colors? Let us know!

K&F Show #75: Coltrane vs. Duke: S4 Episode 4 of the Dukes of Hazzard

This episode is powered by you! We’re all in on Patreon support and have dropped the regular ads….which is akin to jumping the creek without looking at the near empty fuel gauge on the runup. We have $1, $2, $5, and now $10 monthly options available (I’m looking at you Craig Elliott) – or you can just do something of your own choosing too. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supporters will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us too! The June episode comes out next week (June 27). Thank you, thank you!

Dukes Review: Rosco is very very very funny in this episode. That’s basically the entire episode because not a lot else is super memorable. It’s the age-old tale of a fake breaking-of-every-bone-in-Rosco’s-body-to-steal-the-Duke-farm that you’ve heard time and time again, and it’s both predictable and happy too. There’s one super awesome stunt that Tom Wopat does running along side the General. Otherwise, bring on the next episode. 6 corndogs.

One last thing. We’re supposed to push the merch even more now that we’re not running ads! So, to get a shirt just go to http://www.kfshowshirts.com. We’ll be adding in stickers, decals, and other cool stuff in the future too. Want different colors? Let us know!
