Dukes Review – S4E7: “Sadie Hogg Day”
Remember high school when they had the Sadie Hawkins dance and the girls had to ask the guys to go? This is the Hazzard County version of that, only with waaaaaaay more girls in shorts that you ever remembered in high school. And instead of a dance they’re running the town for a day. Mostly this is an episode that seems to exist only to shoot film of girls walking in shorts. Anyway, here’s the gist: Boss Hogg has been stealing from the county funds for years and (shocker) on Sadie Hogg day finds out he’ll be audited. In a quick turn of brilliance he decides to make Daisy Duke in charge of the county funds, then has the bank robbed of said funds leaving Daisy liable. Even worse? Acting Deputy Miss Tizdale accidentally confuses Bo and Luke for leaving the bank with the money…when they were actually chasing the bank robbers. Fast forward 30 minutes and it does all get resolved with several more pairs of shorts. Fin.

Corndog’s Insider Dukes of Hazzard Episode Specific Nerd Trivia:
3:43 – When Rosco and Boss Hogg are in the police station… I’m sure, in today’s world, you could not get away with saying “…all those cute little heifers runnin’ around. I just can’t wait to pin my badge on one of those little cuties!”
8:59 – I was probably watching too close, but when Boss Hogg was drawing names, and calls out “Miss Daisy Duke”, he spits all over the place when saying “Duke”.
11:14 – When Rosco has Bo and Luke pulled over to do a smog test on the General Lee, we can see that this was not the clean Hero close up car. The engine bay is dingy, but at least there was a chrome air cleaner on the engine.
13:38 – When Rosco attempts to do a smog test on the General Lee, and Bo & Luke pull off… if you look carefully as the car drives off, you can see that the passenger side door on the General is only partially closed (on the latch’s first click)
14:55 – after the bank robbers leave, and the camera cut to Bo and Luke getting away from Rosco, I had to watch this scene a few times. It really looked like John Schneider was the one behind the wheel, sliding the car around. After a closer look, it appears to actually be stunt driver Jack Gill who is behind the wheel.
As Bo and Luke are driving towards the junkyard, they show a couple low angle interior shots of the General Lee (from the driver side). If you look carefully at the roll bar, right above the passenger’s head, you can see how many of the roll bars were built. In the curve, they welded a bracket to the bar that would bolt to the roof panel, right where the factory shoulder belt would have been mounted. This kept the roll bard from wobbling back and forth.
While everyone is driving around in circles inside the “Hazzard Junkyard”, if you look carefully… you can see a yellow 68/69 Charger with vectors on it. It has another car stacked on top of it, and you are only able to see a few quick glimpses of the car. I have no info on this car, but more than likely, it was a former GL.
I’d have to rate this episode a 7/10.

Dream Board Update: Goals to Accomplish Before Episode 200
1. Get Diet Coke to Sponsor us….or just Kibbe. FAILED
2. Be characters in the Disney/Pixar movie, Cars 3. Finnegan is the General. Kibbe…is wishing he was the General. FAILED.
3. Syndicate the show onto TV and radio, having awesome guests in studio, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on regularly to be our best friend.
4. Get John Schneider himself on the show with us. Pray to God he actually likes us and isn’t freaked out. FAILED
5. Blow up the podcast so that it becomes a regular weekly show, interviewing celebrities, and actually providing a living for us capable of allowing us to race cars anytime we want plus let our wives get the shoes they like.
6. Get our own studio.
7. We each get a General Lee (real car – not a toy). Kibbe has one!
8. Get a Voiceover Guy to announce the segments.
9. Jump a car together. Kibbe wants to go 30-feet vertical.
10. Make a Dream GL that is based off of a 1973 NASCAR Charger (like the 1/16th scale AMT model)
11. Kibbe needs a new wallet to replace his “George Costanza”.
12. Mike to get a new truck for legit towing. DONE!
