Dukes Review: The metaness of the multiverse – as now popularized in Spiderman 3 – and as categorized in the last episode – apparently came from the Dukes of Hazzard. This is the episode of the Dukes where Waylon Jennings, the real life show balladeer comes to visit Hazzard. And he does so, because he knows the Dukes. Movie Review: Just when you thought you had heard every Santa origin possible….this is the one where they kill him, and could completely care less. No one is even sad. And apparently, we shouldn’t be either! Tim Allen goes on a movie tear in the 1990’s that’ll melt your bank account. But this one is a Christmas classic about a divorcee father that loves his kid, makes something of himself beyond just that of a wisecracking Ford Taurus SHO driver, and a North Pole that’s filled with elves played by children. Yessir, Tim Allen may just be everyone’s favorite Santa too…until he falls off a roof and is forgotten forever.

Dukes Review: As someone once said, no good deed goes unpunished. What started as a series known for its unbelievable car jumps and stunts….has just become a cost cutting mid 1980’s cash cow destined for cancellation. This episode, the very last one of Season 6, features the beginning of the end. Miniatures. Miniature buildings. Miniatures cars. Miniature jumps. No wonder they stuck this episode on a Saturday night when they thought no one was looking. It’s a shame too, because the episode itself is honestly pretty good plot, driving stunts, and features a great guest actor (Hal Williams, 227). Barf. It had to happen sometime. Christmas is ruined.

Dukes Review: We’re not going to lie, Season 6 is nearly to a close and it’s starting to get weird. There’s a fake fortune teller played by the lady from Policy Academy. There’s a little person (and they actually don’t say “midget,” thankfully). Also, Bo’s not in this episode. There’s also a 68 Charger with a REALLY terrible 69 taillight conversion. This friends, is a really odd episode with tons of sub plots, a Dodge van, and no new General Lee jumps. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Corndog’s book had a ton of details on this episode and we added a lot to our list!

The Hazzard impound yard….You’ll see Rosco cars there, bad guys cars you recognize, my high school Nova….and what’s this? A non General Lee unconverted white 68 Charger (likely a future-to-be General Lee). That’s the good news. The bad news is….I think the first stunt-miniature shot might be in this episode. David has become a staple in the automotive media landscape having spent 20-plus years in print before he ever came to YouTube and Television. He just recently penned his final piece for the February 2022 edition Hot Rod Magazine and last year filmed 61 individual episodes for various shows on the Motor Trend platform (Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Engine Masters, etc.).
In this discussion you’ll learn what we all really wanted to know about living life in the fast lane, working a seemingly endless schedule, and never getting the chance to completely finish any project. Like us, David grew up believing that 1968 and ’69 Chargers were it when it came to the all invulnerable muscle car, as powerful as it is cool looking, as desirable to others as it faithful to its owner.
He enjoyed the Chargers of The Dukes of Hazzard (and has stories to tell), Dirty Marty Crazy Larry, and others, but his favorite is the one that he and Finnegan built together: General Mayhem. If you’ve followed that car over the years you know it has gone from a motorhome powered drifting underdog to a Hellcat powered drag car. David loved the first iteration of it and he’s just recently put it back to it’s original glory.

Dukes Review: There’s a plot. Too much plot, some good shots of the General, a cool jump or two…..and then I forget. The IMDB guy got it mostly right. Daisy gets confused by a hypochondriac mobster for being a nurse because she was in a church play that required extra short nurse outfits. And she switched her book of lines for the play with his book of illegal business and ill gottenness. So there’s that. The General Lee had carbon buildup, which is dumb, backfired, and then the whole episode is dealing with said hypochondriac. Luckily, Corndog found a detail on a GL with a 273 small block and nitrous!
