K&F Show #269: Cody Young Returns for a Hot August Night! Movie Review – “Hot Rod”

Presented with Holley! BIG NEWS: tThe fall events at Holley are just around the corner and Holley MOPARTY is less than 60 days away. We’ll be there and you should be too! We are ONCE AGAIN the media partner for the General Lee jump, too!

BIGGER NEWS: the all new 5-wire hookup Sniper 2.0 EFI is here and yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! The list of upgraded features is extensive, but long story short this is about to make something that was revolutionary even easier. Like the original Sniper it’s designed to work with a myriad of ignition and transmission options from basic points to fill timing control with transmission kickdown provision. It even has an integration for a PDM (Power Data Module), a feature that’ll make your life a magical wonderland when you have multiple components that all need a clean 12V power source and access to switched power.

Just visit Holley.com to peruse and view for yourself and be SURE to tell them that we sent you!

K&F Show Summary: Friends, for a lot of you this one has been a long time coming. This is our review of the Andy Samberg movie “Hot Rod.” It’s the tale of Rod, a young Evil Knievel wanna be stuntman, who makes his quest in life to do killer stunts to earn enough money to pay for his step father’s heart transplant. And that….is about as serious as it gets. Rod cannot grow a mustache, so he uses a fake one during his stunts. To quell his anger, he does gymnastics in the forest until he falls down the side of a mountain for about 2 minutes. His loser buddies build his ramps and light his fireworks. If there’s a school bus to jump, he’s your man. He won’t make it, but he’s your man anyway. It’s stupid, slapstick, musical, and pure comedic genius in every way. 10 Corndogs from all of us!

TMCP #463: Garrett Daniels Revisited – How To Survive, Adapt, and Thrive Your Off-Road Fab Shop Dream Business!

This week, we get a chance to catch up with a previous guest and friend of the show Garrett Daniels. When I interviewed Garrett three years ago in episode 351, he was just starting out on his own trying to make a business out of his passion of fabrication. Specifically, he wanted to specialize in roll cages and off road suspension for the trucks he loved most. Since then many things went well, some things became “difficult learning lessons”, but it all helped him to adapt and thrive to where he is today!

K&F Show #137: Kibbe Lee Lives! Movie Review – Days of Thunder

http://bit.ly/TMCP_Podcast_Survey

Holley is the official EFI source for Kibbe and Friends and is the PROUD sponsor of this episode! This episode features the full recap of the entire Terminator Stealth install on #KibbeLee at Cody Crafted in Burleson, TX. The system is on, it works, the car runs, nothing leaks, and we’re ready to do some fine tuning!

We need your help! We’re working with Holley on future things to do with the show….and we really need to know where you live and what you drive. Could you please fill out this super-duper easy four question survey for us? It would REALLY help move the ball forward for the future initiatives we have planned together. http://bit.ly/TMCP_Podcast_Survey

Movie Review – Days of Thunder! Since the Daytona 500 is right around the corner we knew it was time to do what needed to be done: review Days of Thunder! The team that brought you Top Gun, brings you Top Car – better known as Days of Thunder. Both movies feature a wildly talented but undisciplined rebel who is as awesome with driving machinery as he is with the ladies. Both feature a helmet-less motorcycle riding Tom Cruise as the lead who goes through massive success riding his own ego….until his butt can’t cash them. This is the movie that proves to get the girls, you gotta go fast, and if you’re from California you’re not really a yankee…you’re not really from anywhere.

Patreon Peeps, you have supported us since day one…and we thank you SO MUCH for it! The year 2020 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and we have decided to retire the $1 and $2 levels completely. If you’re still at those levels you can keep them – but if you’d consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help. The $10 level will remain and we now have a brand new $20 level as well! All members who join at that level will receive a sticker swag pack in the mail, you’ll be IMMEDIATELY entered in the monthly prize grab, and you’ll receive a phone call from one (or all) of us to chat up whatever you want for 30 minutes!

The Patreon Supporter PRIZE GRAB will resume this month – and all Patrons at the $10 level, or at any lower level with 6 or more months of support are eligible. We will also do our Q&A show this month as well – so send in your questions!

Thank you SO MUCH to those of you who have joined in and also to those of you who have chosen to increase your contribution! To get in on the action and support the show with a minor financial contribution just click the link below to sign up. www.patreon.com/kfshow

TMCP #402: From Architecture to Race Teams to Hot Rods – Cody Young’s Amazing Hot Rod Shop Journey; Now Adding Holley Fuel Injection to the Kibbe Lee!

This weeks show is with Cody Young, owner and operator of Cody Crafted specialty shop. Cody grew up with a passion for cars and speed, which led him into racing and building race cars. He traveled around and did some wrenching or sales as well as stand in racing for some teams. After years of living life in the fast lane, it was time to settle down and pick a reliable job to support his family. Cody started working in a dealership and after a few years there, he realized that the Saturday hours were causing him to miss his boys growing up. His realization that life was slipping through his fingers, he knew it was time to start his own business so he could call the shots. After working in a fab shop, to learn how to do the work, he started Cody Crafted and is able to spend time with family while still building vehicles that fire his passion.

Check out Episode 359 where I talked to Jeff Teel from Holley regarding the Terminator Stealth fuel injection system. This system looks like the old school Holley carb just like what was used on the General Lee. I have been talking about installing this injection system since even before the Kibbe Lee was purchased. Cody, being the consummate listener, noticed that I had a lot going on and he thought that this is his time to step up and lend a hand. He has installed a few different injection systems in various cars and trucks and knew that he could help out with a little expertise. I greatly appreciate the offer to help and thought I should have him on the show to learn more about CodyCrafted.

If you would like to know more about Cody and what CodyCrafted can do for you, check out his page at CodyCrafted.com or on Instagram.com/codycrafted. You can keep up with the latest happenings on Facebook.com/CodyCrafted.
