Dukes Review: To Catch a Duke
K&F Show Summary:
Have you ever seen Animal House? Remember Babs? She’s the bad guy in this episode! Unfortunately that’s about the end of the episode highlights. Anyway, Babs and her bad-guy husband come to Hazzard with some stolen jewels. Somehow the jewels end up in Rosco’s patrol car, Boss thinks he’s in on it, then fires him for not giving him a cut of the take. Shortly thereafter the Dukes get accused of doing the jewel stealing. This of course forces them to team up with Rosco, then get Babs and Mr. Babs to confess their nefarious deeds by terrifying them in a while ride with the General. Boss forgives everyone and the clock resets for the next episode. Feel free to look up Babs on Google or IMDB. You’ll get lost in that one, trust me.
K&F Show Rating: 6.5 Corndogs
Legit Episode Info:
Season 3 – Episode 15: “To Catch a Duke”
Written by Bruce Howard
Directed by Denver Pyle
Original Airdate: 1/6/1981
Corndog’s Insider Dukes of Hazzard Episode Specific Nerd Trivia:
For whatever reason, I do not recall seeing this episode much at all. Maybe only a few times. It doesn’t appear like I was missing much though. The episode had a pretty good storyline, but just not enough stunts for me. I’m not sure where Daisy was for this episode either. Looking at her IMDB page, the only other production that she did in 1981 was an episode of “Enos”. So it’s possible that she was filming that during this time. Just a guess.
When the jewelry thieves pull up to Cooter’s Garage, you may have noticed that this was an earlier single headlight model. Also, notice that their car was the same shade of green as Sheriff Little’s car. This was probably one of the Chickasaw police cars left over from the last episode.
When couple’s identity is discovered, and they runs out of the police station… as they are climbing into the General Lee, you will notice that the decals “GENERAL” and “LEE” and very spaced out. This car is easy to spot just because of that. (Please do not replicate this detail on your car) ha
You pointed out the pushbar on this episode. From what I can tell, there was only one style used throughout the entire episode. In previous episodes, the small pushbar would change around between the shorter and taller styles.
Towards the end of the episode, when they finally jump the General Lee, they used a lot of recycled footage. The jump was new, but most of the scenes where the General was sliding around, that was recycled.
I’d rate this episode a 6 out of 10.

Dream Board Update: Goals to Accomplish Before Episode 200
1. Get Diet Coke to Sponsor us….or just Kibbe. FAILED
2. Be characters in the Disney/Pixar movie, Cars 3. Finnegan is the General. Kibbe…is wishing he was the General. FAILED.
3. Syndicate the show onto TV and radio, having awesome guests in studio, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on regularly to be our best friend.
4. Get John Schneider himself on the show with us. Pray to God he actually likes us and isn’t freaked out. NOV 2017: THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN!
5. Blow up the podcast so that it becomes a regular weekly show, interviewing celebrities, and actually providing a living for us capable of allowing us to race cars anytime we want plus let our wives get the shoes they like.
6. Get our own studio.
7. We each get a General Lee (real car – not a toy). Kibbe has one!
8. Get a Voiceover Guy to announce the segments.
9. Jump a car together. Kibbe wants to go 30-feet vertical.
10. Make a Dream GL that is based off of a 1973 NASCAR Charger (like the 1/16th scale AMT model)
11. Kibbe needs a new wallet to replace his “George Costanza”.
12. Mike to get a new truck for legit towing. DONE!
