A movie about high school romance, a non-running Camaro, and a claymation guitar playing hamburger.

Our Amazing Review of John Cusack’s Better off Dead

K&F Show Summary:

OK, if you have never ever seen this movie before, I (Rob) can tell you all you need to know to want to go watch it: this movie is why Finnegan is Finnegan. Seriously. Check it out. Watch the motive and tell me I’m wrong.

That aside, this move is the story if high school shy guy Layne Meyer, and his desire to win back his long lost girlfriend Beth after she dumped him for the Captain of the High School Ski Team. Along the way Layne befriends the french speaking foreign exchange girl, she fixed his awesome ’67 Camaro so he can finally defeat the Asian brothers in a drag race, and Booger from Revenge of the Nerds delivers the classic line that forever changed America, “Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.” Oh, and the kid that wants $2 for deliver papers is in it. And so in Winchester from M*A*S*H. And a hamburger plays Eddie Van Halen’s guitar.

Legit Movie Info:

Release Date: 10/11/85
Director: Savage Steve Holland
Writer: Savage Steve Holland
Stars: John Cusack, David Ogden Stiers, Kim Darby

Super Nerdy not as good as Corndog’s Insider Analysis:

-The mom was played by Kim Darby – who was in the movie Tue Grit with John Wayne!!

-The dad is David Ogden Stiers – better known as Charles Emerson Winchester from MASH.

-Dan Schneider plays Ricky Smith – who today is a big deal behind writing for kids productions on Nickelodeon, and I think he too has a podcast. He was also on Head of the Class, the 80’s TV show starring Howard Hessman – also known as Dr Johnny Fever from WKRP.

-The paperboy – Demian Slade – and is best known for the phrase, “I want my two dollars!”

-Monique…was not actually french! Actress Diane Franklin had taken french in high school and her parents were German – and she just laid in a thick accent and it worked.

-Charles Dumar is played by Curtis Armstrong – known as Booger in Revenge of the Nerds, he’s in the TV show moonlighting, but this was my favorite role of him ever. Do you know the street value of this mountain???

-Roy Stalin is played by actor Aaron Dozier – who is not really in anything else.

-BOX Office Mojo: Domestic Total Gross was $10,297,601 – roughly $24Million today

-The Camaro – was a white 67 RS 350 with red interior, painted black for this movie. For the burnout, Monique in the passenger seat and the production coordinator doing the driving. The car is restored to it’s screen glory and lives somewhere near Durango, CO today.

Dream Board Update: Goals to Accomplish Before Episode 200

rob_ferrari_dietcokesponsorship
Coca Cola Corporation take note. This is how awesome sponsoring our show would be. Even when driving Ferrari F-430 race prepped track cars Kibbe can only think about how refreshing a Diet Coke would be.

1. Get Diet Coke to Sponsor us….or just Kibbe. FAILED

2. Be characters in the Disney/Pixar movie, Cars 3. Finnegan is the General. Kibbe…is wishing he was the General. FAILED.

3. Syndicate the show onto TV and radio, having awesome guests in studio, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on regularly to be our best friend.

4. Get John Schneider himself on the show with us. Pray to God he actually likes us and isn’t freaked out.

5. Blow up the podcast so that it becomes a regular weekly show, interviewing celebrities, and actually providing a living for us capable of allowing us to race cars anytime we want plus let our wives get the shoes they like.

6. Get our own studio.

7. We each get a General Lee (real car – not a toy).

8. Get a Voiceover Guy to announce the segments.

9. Jump a car together. Kibbe wants to go 30-feet vertical.

10. Make a Dream GL that is based off of a 1973 NASCAR Charger (like the 1/16th scale AMT model)

11. Kibbe needs a new wallet to replace his “George Costanza”.

12. Mike to get a new truck for legit towing. DONE!
