KF Show 41 – Witty Banter!

For those of you that love the “witty banter” portion of this episode, be prepared for everything you’ve ever wanted to know in regards to watching the great Solar Eclipse of 2017, how to correctly launch a drag boat to music, and what count of the clock to look for to step on to the football field if you’re leading a drumline. Also – the triumphant return of the game “Guess Who’s Birthday!”

Fun facts: Both Rob and Mike attended college for 6 years. Neither are doctors.

At long last…we have a really really cool shirt design that features a (generally speaking) sweet jumping car!

Guess what? We have a new shirt…and it features an actual jumping car and everything! If you would like to support the show in a really tangible way (i.e. to buy something), please consider purchasing one. We chose the best American Apparel super-cuddly shirt as the base, and the design is a one-off by our own pal Kirk. Visit KFSHOWSHIRTS.COM to pick one up!

Dukes of Hazzard S3E3: The Hazzardville Horror

K&F Show Summary:

At some point in every great TV show series run they do the holiday themed episodes. This time around it’s Halloween and it’s all centered around the Haunted House in Hazzard. The house is occupied by a set of small time thieves running a smelting operation in the basement to melt down their stolen silver.  Everything is going great until a pretty girl returns to Hazzard to claim the house from her long lost Uncle. With me so far? Bo & Luke get blamed for the silver that was (obviously) stolen from Boss Hogg, the house scares people, and somehow it leads to the General Lee jumping a lake and ending up on a postcard received by hundreds of thousands of kids in the early 1980’s. Boom. Best summary ever! Hijinks ensue.

Famous Photo #2 from this show – the famous John Schneider in the GL pose! Image: Warner Bros, provided by Justin “Corndog” Cornette

Corndog’s Super Insider Analysis:

I did not have much “insider” info to pull from this episode… but I always thought it was a pretty good one. This episode originally aired right after Halloween and was a good storyline for the time. I though there was actually a decent amount of stunts for this episode. While this episode may not be the most popular in the seven season run, there were two famous photo taken during this episode.

One of my favorite photographed jumps was on this episode. When the General Lee jumps over the pond… which was at Lake Sherwood… the jump was photographed. Back then, you could send a letter in to your favorite character (Bo, Luke, Daisy, etc.), and many times, you would receive a postcard back that was autographed by the star. I’m sure that you have heard this in the past, but the “General Lee” received the most fan mail during the show’s original run. Either WB or CBS decided to take a photo of the General Lee and put a tire track across it…. acting as if the car actually “autographed” the photo. So they would send these out to the fans who wrote in. The photograph that was used was from this episode, when the car jumped across the pond.

Another photograph that was taken during this episode was also popular autographs. As a matter of fact, I believe it was the first one that John Schneider would send out to fans. Right about the 28min mark, when Bo, Luke, and Mary Lou are at the Duke farm, and they climb into the General Lee to get away from Cletus… during this scene, John Schneider was photographed posing with the General Lee. Attached is a picture of the photo.

Starting about the 19min mark, after Rosco finds the silver under Bo’s foot, Bo and Luke flee the scene. Supposedly, Luke starts off driving, but if you look carefully throughout the chase scenes, sometimes you will see Bo’s yellow shirt as the driver. This continues to change back and forth.

Dream Board Update: Goals to Accomplish Before Episode 200

rob_ferrari_dietcokesponsorship
Coca Cola Corporation take note. This is how awesome sponsoring our show would be. Even when driving Ferrari F-430 race prepped track cars Kibbe can only think about how refreshing a Diet Coke would be.

1. Get Diet Coke to Sponsor us….or just Kibbe.

2. Be characters in the Disney/Pixar movie, Cars 3. Finnegan is the General. Kibbe…is wishing he was the General.

3. Syndicate the show onto TV and radio, having awesome guests in studio, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on regularly to be our best friend.

4. Get John Schneider himself on the show with us. Pray to God he actually likes us and isn’t freaked out.

5. Blow up the podcast so that it becomes a regular weekly show, interviewing celebrities, and actually providing a living for us capable of allowing us to race cars anytime we want plus let our wives get the shoes they like.

6. Get our own studio.

7. We each get a General Lee (real car – not a toy).

8. Get a Voiceover Guy to announce the segments.

9. Jump a car together. Kibbe wants to go 30-feet vertical.

10. Make a Dream GL that is based off of a 1973 NASCAR Charger (like the 1/16th scale AMT model)

11. Kibbe needs a new wallet to replace his “George Costanza”.

12. Mike to get a new truck for legit towing. DONE!
