The Dukes Of Hazzard – Episode Re-Review:
“The Hazzardville Horror” S03E03

Happy Halloween from the Kibbe and Friends Show! This week, Rob, Corndog, and Bernie are digging up a classic for a special audio-only bonus episode. We’ve recorded a fresh introduction, then brought back our 2024 review of “The Hazzardville Horror”—because nothing says Halloween like a haunted mansion, stolen silver, and an orange Charger flying across a pond.

This review originally appeared in K&F episode 311. Enjoy this Halloween treat, and we’ll be back next week with more fun and foolishness!

K&F Show Summary: A beautiful woman returns to Hazzard to collect her inheritance: a mansion full of antiques that apparently comes with its own ghosts. It’s basically a Hallmark movie, except the house is haunted and the leading men arrive through the windows of a Dodge Charger.

Mary Lou Pringle wants to sell the family estate, but spooky noises and moving furniture are scaring away prospective buyers. Of course, the mansion isn’t REALLY haunted. A father-and-son criminal team is using the basement to melt stolen silver into bars. The supernatural activity is just their version of a “Do Not Disturb” sign.

Bo and Luke investigate, Boss and Rosco blame the Dukes, and Boss’s precious “Hogglooms” become considerably less collectible.

The guest cast takes us on a movie-and-TV detour, too. Morgan Brittany’s appearance leads to a discussion of her relationship with Dukes stuntman Jack Gill. Andrew Robinson trades the menace of Dirty Harry’s Scorpio for a bullhorn and haunted-house tricks, while Charles Tyner’s appearance sends us straight into Planes, Trains and Automobiles territory. Naturally, Bernie has thoughts—and a Tammy Wynette joke.

On the automotive side, Corndog revisits the famous General Lee pond jump and the photograph used for the car’s tire-track “autograph.” We also discuss recycled stunt footage, disappearing car roofs, and a chase sequence where Bo and Luke seem to swap driving duties between shots. Rob even spots an in-car microphone and its wiring hiding in plain sight.

Add Boss, Rosco, and Cletus guarding the silver without successfully guarding the ceiling, Luke struggling to climb out of the driver’s side, and a little romance, and you’ve got one outstanding Halloween adventure.

Ten silver bars!
