Behind the Wheel of Chaos:
Corey M. Eubanks
The Stories Behind the Stunts (Part 2)

In Part 2 of our conversation with Corey M. Eubanks, we pick up right where things left off—and it doesn’t take long before things go completely sideways.
Corey walks us through one of the most intense moments of his career during his time on The Dukes of Hazzard—a scene involving the General Lee that was supposed to look controlled… but turned into something very real, very fast. What followed was a full-speed collision that sent multiple stuntmen to the hospital and left a lasting impression on how Corey approaches risk, preparation, and survival in a profession where things don’t always go according to plan.
From there, the conversation opens up into the deeper side of stunt work—the part most people never see. Corey shares what it’s really like to operate on instinct when visibility is limited (or completely gone), how communication breakdowns can change everything in an instant, and why fear isn’t something to eliminate—but something to respect. After more than four decades in the business, his perspective is clear: the difference between a great stunt and a dangerous one often comes down to experience, discipline, and knowing when to check your ego at the door.

We also get into his work today, including his hands-on Crash School, where he’s teaching the next generation of stunt performers something Hollywood has never formally required—how to crash safely. It’s part education, part reality check, and built entirely from lessons learned the hard way.
And of course… it wouldn’t be Corey without a few stories that make you shake your head and laugh at the same time.
Take a look at the list below featuring just a portion of the films Corey M. Eubanks has been involved in throughout his career—this is by no means the full picture. What it does show, however, is just how deeply his work is woven into some of the most recognizable action films and car culture moments of the past four decades. As you read through it, you may start to realize something… many of the scenes, crashes, and high-impact moments that stuck with you weren’t just movie magic—they were the result of real drivers, real risk, and real skill behind the wheel.

…and of course, our all-time favorite, The Dukes of Hazzard—
where Corey got his start in 1981 and helped create some of
the most iconic car stunts ever put on screen!
In the second half of the episode, we shift gears and head into a full breakdown of the 2004 film Starsky & Hutch—a movie Corey himself worked on, which means this isn’t your typical movie review. As the guys walk through the film, Corey adds real-world context to what you’re seeing on screen—explaining how the stunts were designed, what the production was trying to achieve, and where things didn’t exactly go according to plan. That includes one unforgettable crash sequence where a mix of pressure, timing, and just a little bit of ego led to a moment that went sideways… and ultimately ended up in the final cut for everyone to see.
What makes this segment so fun is the contrast between Hollywood polish and real stunt work. Scenes that look chaotic are often carefully controlled—until they’re not—and Corey breaks down the difference in a way only someone in the driver’s seat can. You’ll hear how decisions are made in the moment, how directors adapt when things don’t go perfectly, and why sometimes the “mistake” is actually what makes the scene memorable. It’s part interview, part movie review, and a rare behind-the-scenes look at how some of your favorite on-screen moments actually come together. Buckle up.
