Classic Dukes Review: S2E14
“The Runaway”
K&F Show Summary:
Another classic Dukes review, and another reminder that in the glory years of the Dukes….all female guest stars ended up in a crop top and cut off shorts at some point. This classic episode documents the tale or a rich girl in love with a poor farm boy, and an egotistical wealthy father that wants to stand between them. Why? Because rich people – are evil – especially in a comic TV series. (As a side note, the evil rich father is played by Alan Alda’s father!) The Dukes help the girl out to marry her farm boy Fred, thanks to the Joe Dirt bridge, and in the process of it all end up killing Daisy’s 74 Road Runner…which by this point’s isn’t actually a ’74 Road Runner at all. It’s replaced by a brand new product placement white Jeep Renegade named Dixie. This is a fantastic episode for stunts, shoddy hiding of car effects, sped up and slowed down car chase footage, and again – unrequited T&A. 9 Corndogs!

National Parts Depot Presents: Bernie on the News
Also in this episode….the good people at National Parts Depot have to decided 2024 is the year to present the Award Winning Newsman Bernie McPartland in his (self-proclaimed) award winning news segment, Bernie On the News. As most of you know, NPD is the title sponsor of The MuscleCar Place Podcast and has been since 2011. Their immense support of TMCP as a show (and as a company) can’t be overshadowed.
And now, the fact that they are presenting Bern in the drivers seat for the world to hear….is somewhat humbling. And by humbling, we mean frightening, terrifying, sickening, etc. Welcome, NPD (and Bern, don’t screw this up)!
