K&F Update:
As some of you may now be aware, CD’d family suffered a tragedy earlier this week. We’ll leave it to him to share any details further unless he requests differently. He’s unavailable for the show at the moment and we all completely understand. We recorded this a few days ago in his honor and chose to include re-runs movie reviews of two of this favorites; Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (Episode 99) and American Graffiti (Episode 261). Listen in and enjoy. I’m sure that he and his family would sure appreciate your prayers!
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
K&F Movie Summary from Episode 99: In the mind of Corndog, this movie is the ’69 Charger movie of movies. I think he’d even rather have a DMCL (screen used) Charger than a screen used General Lee. He’s crazy, because this super weird 1974 box office smash starring Peter Fonda is a whacked-out example of what happens when directors and actors all use drugs while making a movie. The only redeeming thing is the stunts and the Charger. Al Wyatt, Jr is in it though, so maybe this is where he and the Charger first melded together to form the most dynamic duo ever on automotive cinematic history. Watch it for the car stunts and the helicopter flying and skip the rest. (Editor’s Note: Kibbe is the only one of the three of us that feel this way, but since he’s the guy that types this stuff up his opinion is what counts the most, apparently. )

Movie Review: American Graffiti
K&F Movie Summary from Episode 261:
If Corndog were transported in time, this is where he’d end up. I get it now. American Graffiti is about a time when cars, car culture, cruising, and podcasters – which back then were called Radio Disc Jockeys – ruled and ruled supreme. This movie made actors into stars, in many cases – lifelong big time MOVIE Stars. Featuring Ron Howard,Paul Le Mat, Richard Dreyfus, and a young carpenter pulled back into acting by a friend – Harrison Ford, this is the tale of a yellow ‘32 Deuce against a big block ‘55 Chevy. Or is it? By the time this is done, you might be wondering if ‘58 Chevy’s are on the comeback….or if the whole movie was a setup for the 1980 Disney Classic “Herbie Goes Bananas,” co starting Terry the Toad himself, Charles Martin Smith. More so, American Graffiti is the launchpad of Star Wars….because as a result of this movie, George Lucas would have a blank checkbook for the rest of his life to do whatever he wanted. 10-stars.

National Parts Depot Presents: Bernie on the News
Also in this episode….the good people at National Parts Depot have to decided 2024 is the year to present the Award Winning Newsman Bernie McPartland in his (self-proclaimed) award winning news segment, Bernie On the News. As most of you know, NPD is the title sponsor of The MuscleCar Place Podcast and has been since 2011. Their immense support of TMCP as a show (and as a company) can’t be overshadowed.
And now, the fact that they are presenting Bern in the drivers seat for the world to hear….is somewhat humbling. And by humbling, we mean frightening, terrifying, sickening, etc. Welcome, NPD (and Bern, don’t screw this up)!
