Holley – short throw Hurst Pistol Grip for modern Challengers!

Presented by Holley!

Phase 3 of Kibbe and Friends is officially here, and Holley is back for more fun, foolishness, and flying orange Chargers!

Holley makes everything it seems including the most needed – AND NECESSARY – component of the modern Dodge Challenger; the pistol grip shifter! For those of you with an automatic or manual car just looking to swap the knob, you can (and it’s not a lot of $$ either). If you have a manual transmission car and would like to upgrade to a short throw with a pistol grip, you can do that too!

Just visit Holley.com to peruse and view for yourself and be SURE to tell them that we sent you!

Cult Car Movie Review:

“Vanishing Point”

K&F Show Summary:

KF Show Summary: If there is a car movie more cultish than the original 1971 film “Vanishing Point,” we don’t know about it. This is the movie that listeners have requested we review for years and for absolutely no reason it’s just never happened. Until now. With the recent passing of Kowalski himself (actor Barry Newman) we decided the time had come to give it it’s due. The thing is, of our trio none of us was really a hard core fanatic of the movie. We all had seen it at least once, but that was about it. Thankfully Greg Hagemann, our expert from the KF Patreon gang, stepped up to help…..and then just took over so we wouldn’t screw it up. He knew the movie inside and out and was armed with facts for days about the artistic side of the movie as well as the nerdy automotive side. He even owns and drives a “modern” Kowalski Challenger to back up his street cred.

Before you ask, according to Greg there were 5 Challengers used; four 4-speed 440 cars and a single 383 automatic car. All were loaned by Chrysler for the movie and all were returned, possible with only one left in running condition. None are known to still exist.

So, kick back and enjoy an automotive icon of a movie about a former war hero, racer, and cop named Kowalski who had become a pill-addicted driver for hire. It’s weird, disconnected at times, and anti-establishment psychedelic. Even Clevon Little starred in it (and he’d later to on to star in Blazing Saddles). But the real star of the movie – the white Challenger – has never looked better. You’ll love it. 10 Dogs.

National Parts Depot Presents: Bernie on the News

Also in this episode….the good people at National Parts Depot have to decided 2023 is the year to present the Award Winning Newsman Bernie McPartland in his (self-proclaimed) award winning news segment, Bernie On the News. As most of you know, NPD is the title sponsor of The MuscleCar Place Podcast and has been since 2011. Their immense support of TMCP as a show (and as a company) can’t be overshadowed.

And now, the fact that they are presenting Bern in the drivers seat for the world to hear….is somewhat humbling. And by humbling, we mean frightening, terrifying, sickening, etc. Welcome, NPD (and Bern, don’t screw this up)!
