FEATURE INTERVIEW
This week’s interview is with Mike Satterfield, owner of M&P Speedshop Apparel. You may remember Mike from a previous podcast way back from 2009 (Episode #27) where he talked about flipping barn find collector cars. This time I talked to Mike about something completey different – a new company that he started since our last show!
M&P features a new line of clothing apparel that is based on authentic historical speed places, people, and brands. He was tired of the cheap and inaccurate vintage style shirts on the market so he decided to find out how hard it was to produce his own line of clothing. It was harder to get everything off of the ground than he thought it would be, but he is proud of the results of all the hard work. Most of the designs produced at M&P can be pinpointed to certain historic locations or recognizable people that changed the face of speed in the early years. M&P also works directly with many historic brands, and they are the official clothing licensee for Shelby, Barris Kustom, and Gulf Oil!
In addition to M&P Mike also runs a cool affinity website called The Gentelman Racer that features the stylish side of our industry….and on the flip side he also runs a second website based on a vehicle we all know (The Creepy Van Guy). The vans pictured on the site range from nice ride, to really creepy. It is defiantly off the beaten path of the automotive world.
Thanks for the interview Mike – and congrats on your success!
