Holley MoParty 2026 – Special Live From The Event
The Muscle Car Place was back at Holley MoParty in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and this time the field crew included Kirk Hansen, Jimmy Morrison, and Nathan Warren. As always, the goal was simple: find the people, cars, and stories that make MoParty one of the most entertaining stops on the automotive calendar.
This year brought conversations with some familiar names and some new faces, including YouTube creators, builders, journalists, and longtime enthusiasts. Here is a quick look at just a few of the stories we brought home.

Derek Bieri – Vice Grip Garage

Derek Bieri has built Vice Grip Garage into one of the biggest automotive channels on YouTube, but the mission behind it remains pretty simple: save old cars and get people excited about bringing forgotten projects back to life. Derek’s approach to YouTube has been deliberately different, too. Instead of chasing the latest production tricks, he has stuck with a simple, authentic style that lets the cars and the story carry the show.
That same philosophy carries into Derek’s family life. He and his wife Jessica are raising three boys, and the family is part of the world surrounding both Vice Grip Garage and their second channel, Vice Grip Lodge, which covers everything from tractors and haymaking to property projects. Derek also gave us a look at the future of the Vice Grip empire: a historic 1948 Chevrolet dealership in Tennessee that he is turning into a museum filled with cars from the channel, personal vehicles, motorcycles, memorabilia, and even an automotive-themed kids’ arcade.

Dylan McCool – Old Mopars, New Tricks

Dylan McCool has become a MoParty regular, and this year he brought some particularly interesting hardware. His 1965 Dodge Monaco combines the body of the old Dodge with the chassis, drivetrain, and modern comforts of a wrecked 2011 Chrysler 300. Underneath is a 5.7 Hemi and five-speed, while inside are air conditioning, heated and cooled seats, and even heated and cooled cup holders. Dylan has already put roughly 5,000 miles on it, and one of the biggest reasons it has become his favorite is that his wife actually enjoys riding in it.
He also brought “Cornbread,” a 1968 Dodge Coronet rescued after sitting in the woods for decades. The restored-but-still-fun combination includes a 360, tunnel ram, dual carbs, slot mags, white headers, and a decidedly old-school hot rod attitude. Dylan also has a growing collection of Mopars waiting their turn, including a recent haul of 11 cars that includes Dusters, a Demon, Belvederes, and a ’69 Dart.

Greg Huizenga – The Cherokee That Isn’t Really a Cherokee

Greg Huizenga brought one of the most unusual vehicles at MoParty: a Jeep Cherokee body on a Chevrolet pickup chassis, powered by a Gen III 5.7 Hemi and a single 66mm turbo. The combination produces about 720 horsepower at the wheels and 840 lb-ft of torque, and Greg uses it for autocross, road-course driving, and generally having a very good time with something that looks nothing like a typical track car.
There’s a lot of history behind the Jeep, too. Greg’s interest in these vehicles goes back to playing around with an old Jeep J10 as a kid, eventually building increasingly serious Jeeps with his father. The current Cherokee has accumulated about 62,000 miles since the build, while Greg’s next project takes things in a completely different direction: a lightweight Comanche with an SRT Neon 2.4 turbo four-cylinder. Greg also builds his own fiberglass front end, making the Cherokee much easier to work on when race-day repairs are required.

Jennifer Harrington – The Gearhead Girl

Jennifer Harrington, better known as The Gearhead Girl, came to MoParty with a background that is a little different from many of the creators we meet. She spent about 16 years in automotive journalism, including time with Car and Driver and Cars.com, after studying journalism with a minor in mechanical engineering technology. Eventually she decided to build something of her own around the cars she was already working on.
Jennifer grew up around cars and says the family’s Mopar obsession started when her father, originally a Chevy guy, bought a ’67 Chrysler Newport for $300. Today her own fleet includes a 1967 Plymouth Fury VIP, ’79 Dodge D150, ’72 Opel GT, Chrysler Conquest, Austin Mini, and Porsche 924 Martini Edition. There is also plenty of wrenching involved, which makes her channel as much about actually owning and working on old cars as it is about talking about them. Her current site continues to feature that hands-on fleet, including her Fury and Opel GT projects. The Gearhead Girl

Tommy Boshers – Cars, Family and Memories

After nearly 20 years working in television, Tommy Boshers has taken a very different route with his own YouTube channel. Instead of a large production crew, Tommy is building the show around his family, including his son Hammer, who is learning the hobby while they build a Chevy C10 together. What started with a rough old truck has turned into one of those father-and-son projects where the lessons go well beyond turning wrenches.
Tommy also had a beautiful 1967 Plymouth GTX at the show with an especially meaningful history. Its original owners started dating as teenagers and drag raced the car at MoParty. The husband had planned to restore it after retirement, but passed away just two days before that retirement. Restoring the GTX became one of the family’s final wishes, and Tommy’s shop brought it back with a 440, fuel injection, upgraded suspension and brakes, and about 500–600 horsepower.
The official The Tommy Boshers website TheTommyBoshers.com also has information on their current projects and events.

Great Time At Moparty
MoParty has a way of bringing together an unusually broad collection of people who love cars for completely different reasons. That’s what makes these shows worth coming back to, and it gave Kirk, Jimmy, Nathan, and Corndog plenty to talk about from Bowling Green. More importantly, these conversations are a reminder that the hobby is not just about the cars sitting on the show field. It’s about the families building them, the people rescuing them, the stories attached to them, and the next generation figuring out why we all love this stuff in the first place.
