TMCP #418: Clay Millican – Becoming an NHRA Top Fuel Drag Racer by the Definition of “The Want To!”

This week is a very special show is with NHRA Top Fuel superstar Clay Millican! I caught up with him at SEMA 2019 and had a chance for a good long chat. His story of humble beginning to the top of Top Fuel is truly amazing, and you’ll learn a phrase I hope you’ll remember forever: “The Want To!” He is even a listener of The Muscle Car Place and Kibbe and Friends shows and his comments proved he has an insiders knowledge of the show!

TMCP #417: Oscar Pereda, Godfather of the BFG Pro-Touring Tire? Michelin’s Track Connect Tire Sensor Apps for Better Lap Times – Ask Rick, NPD looks to the New Year, The Bullitt Mustang goes to Mecum

This week I cornered Oscar Pereda from Michelin in a (slightly) “off the books” interview at the SEMA Show. While the initial discussion was to be centered around the all new Michelin Track Connect system….I found out that he is the guy behind the coolest and most trend-setting genre changing tire sizes in pro-touring! He literally is the person who decided to have BFG develop a 335-wide 18″ tire…because he thought that is what would look “coolest” on the tail of a ’69 Camaro. Front tire sizes followed suit and today we have an enduser suspension, brake, chassis, and speed industry built around it!

TMCP #416: The 2019 Christmas Show: The 11th Annual Feature Interview with Santa Claus Himself!

For a record eleventh year in a row I had the pleasure of having on the most sought after person this time of year. He makes it a point to come on this show every Christmas and marks this as his ONLY official media interview he does each year (everyone else is a fake!). Our interview was with the big man himself, the baddest sleigh driver ever, Santa Claus!

2019 was an amazing year at The Muscle Car Place with many incredible sponsors coming on the show and Santa was generous enough to acknowledge their generous sponsorship’s. He also had some interesting things to say about the new Star Wars and answered some facts about himself for our listeners.

If you would like to hear any of Santa’s interviews from previous years, you can find them here on the website! It all started in 2009 with Episode 28, then followed annually with Episode 67, Episode 114, Episode 160, Episode 197, Episode 233, Episode 270 ,  Episode 307, Episode 343 and last Christmas in Episode 379 We even had Santa on for our gigantic bonanza Episode 300 Celebration show!

TMCP #414: SEMA Special 2019 Show #4 – RingBrothers, You Can’t Handle the Truth! -Mike Copeland: Building An Award Winning SEMA Car in 10 Weeks – Craftsman Tools, Coming BACK to the USA!

This week marks the FINAL episode from SEMA 2019 show, this time with the fabulous Ring Brothers, Mike Copeland of Diversified Creations, and Travis Tesluk from Craftsman Tools! This particular show is all about getting the the truth. Maybe a little too much truth, but it was a fun and you can hear it in the interviews! What a year this was. Thank you so much for tuning in!

TMCP # 366: Michael, Look Out! Our Inside Scoop on the REAL Screen Used KITT’s from Knight Rider with the Knight Rider Historians.

In the early 80’s there were a few different car centered TV shows competing for the same viewers. There were the Dukes and the General Lee, but Michael Knight and KITT showed up with a different, more futuristic kind of automobile. Our guest this week is AJ Palmgren who is a Knight Rider Historian similar to how our own Corn Dog is to the General Lee. Between AJ and Joe Huth there is many many shows worth of information (plus a couple books) and the depth of research is astounding. Unfortunately many important people involved with creating and developing the series are no longer with us but these guys were able to interview and document many stories before they passed away.

TMCP #347{Doug Warble and the GTO Association of America’s Big Summer Show; Ask Rick, NPD’s Final Ford Car Show, Listener Questions, And BULLITT – The Ultimate Collectible Mustang

This weeks interview is Doug Warble with the Susquehanna Valley GTO club. They’ll be hosting the GTOAA National Meet June 26-30, 2018 Valley Forge, PA. Doug grew up around cars and when his dad purchased a GTO “parts car” his life changed to revolve around Pontiacs. He is a fountain of information and I dared to ask him about his favorite obsession.

The GTOAA was founded in 1979 by Tony Bastion for the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of GTOs. The first meet was in Indianapolis Indiana and has grown nationwide. The GTOAA now boasts 4000 members across the US. The organization recently started spot lighting the regional chapters and boosting them on the national web site and Facebook. This action has significantly increased it’s membership and should make for a great turnout at the national meet.

OK, if you have never ever seen this movie before, I (Rob) can tell you all you need to know to want to go watch it: this movie is why Finnegan is Finnegan. Seriously. Check it out. Watch the motive and tell me I’m wrong.

That aside, this move is the story if high school shy guy Layne Meyer, and his desire to win back his long lost girlfriend Beth after she dumped him for the Captain of the High School Ski Team. Along the way Layne befriends the french speaking foreign exchange girl, she fixed his awesome ’67 Camaro so he can finally defeat the Asian brothers in a drag race, and Booger from Revenge of the Nerds delivers the classic line that forever changed America, “Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.” Oh, and the kid that wants $2 for deliver papers is in it. And so in Winchester from M*A*S*H. And a hamburger plays Eddie Van Halen’s guitar.

K&F Show #43: The Late JD Hogg – S3 Episode 5 of The Dukes of Hazzard!

Due to a hilarious medical error, Boss Hogg thinks he’s dying. He immediately realizes he’s done a ton of greedy evil things in his life, and tries to buy his way into heaven by doing “good deeds” while he can in order to avoid going to Hell. He obviously can’t do that, but it makes for good TV fun. He gives the Dukes their farm, the orphans their orphanage, and the Little League their own…league? Doesn’t matter. The shenanigans really get rolling when he finds out it was all a mistake. And there are bad guys in this one too that should be central to the story, but they really aren’t. The highlight is the cameo by Mr. Belding from “Saved By the Bell”. Solid Hijinks ensue.

Holy smokes – it’s raining awesomeness! Today’s show is brought to you by our sponsor Hello Fresh! For $30 off your first week of HelloFresh, visit hellofresh.com and enter Promo Code: KAFS30
