This is it; the one where we learn why, when, and how the General Lee came to the Dukes! Even better – we get to see him be built from an old junkyard wreck (which was clearly a former jump car). Ironically, this is the Dukes of Hazzard episode that Finnegan and I to start our own podcast about the Dukes of Hazzard together…so it’s fitting that we decided to end it here. Anyway, here’s the gist of it; this entire episode is a trip down memory lane for the Duke clan as they throw a birthday party for the General Lee. Only the “date of birth” references the day the General himself was created by the Dukes, not the day the Charger rolled off of the Dodge assembly line. It’s set 8 years in the past where Boss Hogg was skinny with hair, Rosco has a Burt Reynolds mustache, Daisy didn’t work at the Boars Nest, and before Bo and Luke knew that cars could safely fly. And there are bad guys in it, one of which has been a different bad guy two different times in the past too. The biggest thing of all though is that prior to the Dukes, the General was just a soulless Charger. It wasn’t until the Dukes found it – and vice versa – that all their lives changed for the better!

K&F Show #85: Our Review of Cannonball Run…Plus a Tribute to Burt Reynolds

We have good news and better news. Good news – after a brief hiatus, MeUndies is back to sponsor this episode!!!! It turns out that they missed us just as much as we missed them and while we were apart they went and made a whole line of comfy Star Wars undies sure to keep the Force strong for you! To get 15% off your first pair, free shipping, AND their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and get the best and softest underwear you will ever own, go to MeUndies.com/kafs! Welcome back, old friends, and dear listeners….this is all REALLY a credit to you. YOU ROCK!!

This episode features our review of the movie Cannonball Run, but it’s really more of a tribute to the late great Burt Reynolds who passed away recently. We loved Burt’s crazy car movies and Cannonball Run was as zany as it ever got. The premise and screen play were a credit to automotive journalist Brock Yates (who makes a cameo in this movie), and then Burt, Dom DeLuise, and Hal Needham took of from there. Alter ego superheroes, cross-eyed proctologists, inappropriate humor (by today’s standards) and ambulances with straight headers are all you need to know. Thanks for the fun, Burt!

K&F Show #72: Like a Phoenix from the Ashes – The Resurrection of “Death Metal: Finnegan’s ’68 Race-Car Charger!

Hey hey! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the Patreon support! We are sending out the first Q&A email tomorrow for the special Patreon edition of the show. Slowly but surely, between Patreon, ads, and old Chargers we’re getting this sucker figured out. Want to get in on it? You can find it at https://www.patreon.com/kfshow!

Well, this is the episode where we never actually got to the Dukes review. Or the movie review. Or the anything review, other than a brief description of the awesome new “Cobra Kai” series on YouTube Red. Why? Because this is the episode where we did the full dig on the resurrection of Finnegan’s ’68 Charger! If you’ll recall, a K&F listener sent me the car on eBay, I sent it to Mike, Mike bought it later that night, my buddy Rodney and I picked it up in Minnesota and then met Mike and his dad with it in Tennessee, and just last week he, Tony Angelo, Daniel Boshears, and a slew of the faithful put Humpty Dumpty back together again to return it to visit it’s original builder, Joe Berry. The problem was, it wasn’t exactly a bone stock ’68 Charger to start with. It was a race car built in 1970 by a farmer, it never turned a lap, and every home brewed trick in the books was used to get it NASCAR legal for an era that still allowed drivers to smoke cigarettes while racing. Listen in to hear Finnegan relive a week of 16 hours days to get the car back on the road – and back to Joe Berry. And if you prefer our standard banter/Hollywood format, not to worry; we’ll be back at it next week!

K&F Show #69: Yes! It’s The Dukes of Hazzard Star Trek Crossover – S4 Episode 1 of the Dukes of Hazzard

So, yes – we are live on Patreon now – and thank you, thank you, thank you for the support so far! It’s freaking awesome and we’ll use the proceeds to keep the show in full production hands (i.e. pay Bernie), plus buy speed parts for two Chargers. You can jump in by visiting www.patreon.com/kfshow.

Here’s the Dukes Review: In our last show Finnegan got what he had always wanted: A review of Two Lane Blacktop. This time, it’s Kibbe’s turn for joy filled senselessness; a Star Trek the Next Generation crossover episode with the Dukes! Well, not quite that, but close-ish. This is the first episode of Season 4 of the Dukes of Hazzard and the guest star is none other than Johanthan Frakes, Commander Riker himself. Commander Riker plays the part of a nephew to Boss Hogg, and as a Hogg relative Commander Riker must steal and connive his way through life. It’s in his blood. Anyway, he fulfills his Star Fleet destiny by counterfeiting money, putting it into boxes of “grits”, and then falling into love with Daisy Duke and getting her to marry him to avoid the eventual damning legal testimony issue he’ll have in court when he gets caught. It fails, Daisy is shunned, the General Lee jumps, and Riker gets beamed back up to the Enterprise (not true, but wouldn’t have that been super awesome)?

K&F Show #67: We’re Live on Patreon and Our Final Season 3 Dukes Review: Episode 22, The Canterbury Crock

OK, two big things to share in this one. First, we’re now LIVE on Patreon and you can find it at https://www.patreon.com/kfshow! We have every desire to continue to do – and build – this show, and as we shared in the show….it hasn’t gone quite to plan. But, a number of you have awesomely offered (and even asked) to support the show directly, and Patreon is the best way that we know how to do it. You can choose from the three levels of support you’d like to do and we’ll be putting together something cool for those that choose to go this direct route! We’re building this airline as we fly it (or as we jump it). Maybe this is the point where things can go to that next level.

Here’s the second big thing; we just finished our review of the final episode of Season 3 of the Dukes. This episode is likely both the first and lat time that Julius Caeser will be referenced as a connection to the plot of the story (not a joke). Apparently a vase was commissioned by Cleopatra, it ended up in Hazzard County, and a fancy-pants art collector brings Sgt Tackleberry from the Police Academy movies to come get it. This somehow leads to Daisy giving Cooter flowers for his birthday, Rosco and Boss jumping the General Lee backwards down a cliff, and everything working out great in the end. And a widow gets her mortgage paid in there somewhere too. 10-corndogs all around.

MeUndies is also back to sponsor this episode…and just in comfort ball cuddling time! DUKES REVIEW: Do you remember Tuck McElroy, Lead Singer of The Good ‘Ol Boys and the driver in the Winnebago from the Blue Brothers? That’s the bad guy in this episode. And unfortunately, that fact alone is pretty much the highlight of this one too. Anyway, here’s the run down: Boss Hogg is kidnapped for ransom by an escaped convict, ‘ol Tuck McElroy himself. The convict had been imprisoned after Boss had testified against him at a trial, and he swore his revenge…which is what this whole episode is about apparently. The convict steals the General Lee, puts Boss in the shotgun seat, buys a log of salami, and then hides in a shack until the Dukes challenge him to a race (weird race – it’s the General Lee vs the Dukes, all of whom are riding horeseback). I made almost none of that up. 6 Corndogs.

As you’ll here in this episode, the Sponsorship Fastlane course is back! One student took the course last year and put in the hard work…and saw $10K in results back! Course is open until April 17, 2018. www.sponsorshipfastlane.com

K&F Show #60: The Return of Hughie Hogg – S3 Episode 18 of the Dukes of Hazzard

It finally happened. Somehow, some way, today is the first day in K&F Show history that we’ve had two actual real advertisers in the same show. It’s epic. And it involves underwear and books too (and maybe even books about underwear).

To get your 20% off of your first order of MeUndies, Free Shipping AND their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and get the best and softest underwear you will ever own, go to http://www.MeUndies.com/KAFS. Trust us. Get the ones with the crotch pouch.

To get started with a FREE audiobook and 30 day trial just go to http://www.audible.com/KAFS or text “KAFS” to 500-500. We recommend your first book be Ready Player One. It’s awesome.

DUKES REVIEW: For this show, it’s all about a new story for an old bad guy. Do you remember who Hughie Hogg is? Hughie is Boss Hogg’s nephew who is effectively a younger, greedier version of Boss. Boss brings him into town from time to time to get his help framing the Dukes, pull heists, and groom him for future evil deeds. Now you’re up to speed. This episode mostly revolves around Hughie tricking Boss into giving him all of his possessions in order to avoid an IRS audit. As soon as Hughie has everything he wanted he renames the town after himself and establishes a world that kind of resembles that one time in Back to the Future II when Biff was powerful in the alternate 1985. Maybe that’s a stretch here, but this is a tough episode to write a witty summary of. Anyway, the IRS audit was just a ruse set up by Hughie in the first place, hijinks ensue, and then the Dukes have to help Boss get out of the mess by working together with he and Rosco. Happy Gilmore’s Grandma has a role in here too. (Really).

As mentioned in this episode, Kibbe’s new baseball tee is coming to Kickstarter on Feb 27 2018! It took years to get here, but it’s finally here. Check out the details and signup for earlybird Kickstarter pricing at http://www.magictee.io
