Dukes Review: We’re not going to lie, Season 6 is nearly to a close and it’s starting to get weird. There’s a fake fortune teller played by the lady from Policy Academy. There’s a little person (and they actually don’t say “midget,” thankfully). Also, Bo’s not in this episode. There’s also a 68 Charger with a REALLY terrible 69 taillight conversion. This friends, is a really odd episode with tons of sub plots, a Dodge van, and no new General Lee jumps. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Corndog’s book had a ton of details on this episode and we added a lot to our list!

Dukes Review: I’ve got good news and bad news for this one. Here’s the good news. My high school Nova returns and you are going to see a sweet jump of the General – from a very important location. The Hazzard impound yard….You’ll see Rosco cars there, bad guys cars you recognize, my high school Nova….and what’s this? A non General Lee unconverted white 68 Charger (likely a future-to-be General Lee). That’s the good news. The bad news is….I think the first stunt-miniature shot might be in this episode. Five-and-a-half years after launching this show with Mike Finnegan we have finally landed his (one time) boss, mentor, adventurer, and Roadkillinginly cool buddy David Freiburger! David has become a staple in the automotive media landscape having spent 20-plus years in print before he ever came to YouTube and Television. He just recently penned his final piece for the February 2022 edition Hot Rod Magazine and last year filmed 61 individual episodes for various shows on the Motor Trend platform (Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Engine Masters, etc.).
In this discussion you’ll learn what we all really wanted to know about living life in the fast lane, working a seemingly endless schedule, and never getting the chance to completely finish any project. Like us, David grew up believing that 1968 and ’69 Chargers were it when it came to the all invulnerable muscle car, as powerful as it is cool looking, as desirable to others as it faithful to its owner.
He enjoyed the Chargers of The Dukes of Hazzard (and has stories to tell), Dirty Marty Crazy Larry, and others, but his favorite is the one that he and Finnegan built together: General Mayhem. If you’ve followed that car over the years you know it has gone from a motorhome powered drifting underdog to a Hellcat powered drag car. David loved the first iteration of it and he’s just recently put it back to it’s original glory.

TMCP #482 – In Memory of Dallas Kibbe, My Dad
This week will be a very short show as I am occupied with an event that I hoped would never come, but knew it someday would. My father, Dallas Kibbe, passed away from multiple issues that eventually the doctors could not overcome and he left this world to be with my God and my mom. I loved the time I spent with my dad and he left his mark on my life and his grandkids lives as well as many around him. He always encouraged my passion for vehicles and loved the shows I created with my friends. The last couple days were a special gift and I did get to use the Chevelle to bring back memories for him even if he was not strong enough to take one last ride.
Thank you listeners, for the amazing support in this time of grief. The show will be back soon and on track so thank you for this short intermission as I spend time with close family and friends.

Dukes Review: This is the show that convinced you that you can spy on any secret conversation simply by hiding under a desk. I hid under my parents bed once for an hour to hear what I was getting for Christmas……but they never left immediately after spilling the beans like they do on TV and I eventually had to crawl out and got caught.
Anyway, this is part of the “Dukes Infiltrate the Mob” episode by racing in NASCAR, in an Oldsmobile, that’s supposed to be a Chevy, that someone wants to replicate out of a Buick. Solid story telling, vintage NASCAR, good stunts…….that’s fine. The introduction of glamping is here, and that’s nice. There’s not enough General Lee in this episode of course, but this the episode that the PC culture should watch….because the Duke that wins the NASCAR race – in one try – is Daisy. And in a true sign of playing both sides of the aisle, the Dukes get another phone call from the President of the Unites States. Now they’ve had a call from a Republican (Reagan) and a Democrat (Carter). Good episode. More General Lee, please. 6 Corndogs.

Dukes Review: You had me at two part episode. In the entire Dukes series run we’ve only had this happen two other times, in fact! There are faux stock cars with factory Oldsmobile burgundy dashes, random weird sitings of NASCAR Champ Terry Labonte, and chimpanzees as crew members. 1984, you never looked so good.
Anyway, Bo and Luke – in less than 20 seconds – choose to leave Hazzard and serve their government for a complete and total stranger with the goal of putting a corrupt mob boss behind bars for good. The only problem…..they have to leave the farm – and Uncle Jesse – to do it! Worst of all, they can’t tell a soul why or else their loved ones will be KILLED gangster style. Daisy loses it, because she’s out of the loop on the truth……and she’s really freaked out that Coy and Vance are coming back. Aren’t we all.
