The Nitty Gritty:

Welcome to Episode 62 of  the Pro-Touring.com Podcast!

We’re simul-posting the show show here on TheMuscleCarPlace.com as well as on Pro-Touring.com so everyone can get their fix.

For those new to the scene, the Pro-Touring.com podcast show is hosted by myself and Larry Callahan, the owner of Pro-Touring.com.

The show is sponsored by the fantastic hot rod wiring supply company, Ron Francis Wiring, and we’re very appreciative that they were our FIRST EVER show sponsor, and the first sponsor to re-sign for 2014!

Feature Interview – Martin Pond!

Martin Pond’s run at the USCA Laguna Seca event earned him a slot in the 2014 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational!

Now that the first official USCA event is in the books, we decided to dig into the results for the Laguna Seca event. Results are posted below, but to go one step further we asked the Spirit of the Event winner Martin Pond to come on the show and discuss his experience as well, and he agreed! Martin built a 1980 Ford Fairmont that he originally bought for $250 (which, granted, is not the typical route one would go), dropped in a hot small block motor, threw a few Fox Body Mustang parts on it, brought it to the event, had a fantastic time, and walked away with an invite to the 2014 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Not too shabby!

If you’d like more details on the amazing Fairmont, Jim McIlvaine (“Optima Jim”) has a terrific write up available on the OptimaBatteries.com website as well!
