The Pro-Touring.com Update with Larry Callahan!
Larry Callahan is back for the second quarterly Pro-Touring Update for 2021! He has the latest information directly from the pages of Pro-Touring.com and he gave me an update on his tech laden, power stuffed, cutting edge, classic muscle, home projects! The big news is that the event list for 2022 is at full force; more events are back than ever!
Upcoming Events: Brian Finch of Finch Performance and his friends at Tennessee Drift has created a conglomeration of different styles of racing all in one track and event. The result is a two car up, head to head, Christmas tree start, race that is “ok” to hang the rear end out and drift (or just the opposite) to do whatever it takes to generate the best times. MotiV8r: The iconic Camaro has been down and getting updated for quite awhile. Larry admits it has been down longer than he wanted it to be and is taking more parts than was planned. It is currently having an LSA E-Rod engine and transmission being installed. This package will allow Larry to cruise around California and not ever worry about smog checks since it is fully smog legal.
’55 Bel Air Update: The car is getting worked on but not very much due to not enough time left in Larry’s day. Minor tweaks are planned for the inline six but mostly just interior and assembly is left for the vintage shoe box. He does have a 6.0L Truck LS ready to drop into it in the future already….and in classic Larry style he has picked up a new LSA supercharger to drop on the top.
2021 SEMA Dinner Update: The Pro-Touring SEMA Dinner, the full blown 20th get together, will happen in 2022. This is to ensure safety at the event but it is also to make sure people are comfortable enough to come out and make it a great gathering of friends. He is looking forward seeing everyone again when they are safe, healthy, and Covid free.
