Scott Bowers – Ron Francis Wiring:

This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Scott Bowers, the owner and President of Ron Francis Wiring (RFW). For 50 years RFW has been creating simple and durable wiring kids for hot rodders, muscle car addicts, race car drivers, and electrical automotive enthusiasts everywhere. Their systems are robust and durable. They often work so well that people forget to sing their praises……because they just work, and work ALL THE TIME! Scott took over the business years ago from the founder (Ron Francis himself) but if you call the tech line today you’ll still get Ron.

Their customer support and made-in-America approach has stood the test of time and they still make their products right there in Pennsylvania. They provide full chassis harnesses from simple to complex for nearly every American classic car application complete with their color coded and pre-labeled wiring. Their EFI harnesses are available for most popular engine swaps as well, and if a Ford ECO-Boost V6 is your bag….you’ve likely called them for help already!
As much as full harnesses are a common need they address they also offer smaller relat systems, switches, ground posts, and every electrical doo-dad you can think of the make a car work simpler, better, and easier. Calling them and describing your problem often leads to a creative solution that cost less than you were intending it to.
I asked Scott to give his take on trade shows that are valuable for a mid-size aftermarket company as well, and in his pure full honesty approach he answered them all directly. For him, SEMA is no longer a needed annual event. Smaller shows and online marketing have become more valuable.

Scott has always loved the Pro-Touring movement and saw the opportunity early to position their company in that market. He’s a regular participant in his Coyote powered, rear torque arm, wide body SVO Mustang, a car he built from the ground up. (For you SVO purists, put your fears aside. The car was just a rolling shell when he found it. The SVO guts were long gone.) Scott discussed the events he’s attended, which are his favorite, and which have helped him most improve as a driver. In short, the UMI events are tough and the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car events are his favorite. Even better, these kind of events have been a great way to market his company anyway!!
I’m proud to call Scott a trusted advertiser and a true friend. This year marks his 15th year advertising on our podcast network as well. If you would like to contact Scott you can reach them via phone at 1-800-292-1940 and online at https://www.ronfrancis.com.
Thanks for the interview, Scott – and good luck on the track!
