K&F Show #175: Hollywood License Plates; Dukes of Hazzard S5E22 Review “Daisy’s Shotgun Wedding”

Click to join our super secret KF Show Only listener email list..just in case we get blocked from every social and podcast platform! https://forms.aweber.com/form/48/1311263948.htm

Presented with Holley! It’s a new year, and maybe a new (old, kinda crappy, still cool) ride is in your future! Holley is giving away Freiburger’s very own ’66 Buick convertible – the car that started Roadkill! If that’s not enough….did you know that Holley is hiring? Maybe 2021 could be the year you get that dream job! Click here: http://bit.ly/TMCPHolleyRoadkill, and here: http://bit.ly/TMCPHolleyJobs

Projects: In this episode…we debunk the real facts behind movie car license plates you can buy today. Also, Corndog’s black ’66 Charger needs a whole new serpentine pulley system….and he’s got it. The red ’69 is about to get a Holley 600 to replace the Rochester carb someone put on it!

Dukes Review: This is the Season 5 finale episode that features “Bull” from the TV sitcom “Night Court.” It also features a section on forced marriage. Also ultralight aircraft. Meh. Its OK. The highlight might be one jump scene followed by a weird split second when you see a bunch or random people off camera. There appears to be some in car audio taken of the GL as well, which is awesome. 5 Corndogs.

Patreon Peeps, the year 2021 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and if you’d consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help. The $10 level will remain and we now have a brand new $20 level as well! All members who join at that level will receive a sticker swag pack in the mail, you’ll be IMMEDIATELY entered in the monthly prize grab, and you’ll receive a phone call from one (or all) of us to chat up whatever you want for 30 minutes! K&F Show #170: The Annual Thanksgiving Show; Tribute to Finnegan’s Father; Dukes of Hazzard S5E19 Review “Welcome Back, Bo ‘n’ Luke”

Presented with Holley! Holley has two insane contests going on right now, and you can enter! Click here to enter to win a $20,000 small block Ford AND David Freiburger’s ’66 Buick! http://bit.ly/TMCPHolleyRoadkill and http://bit.ly/TMCPHolleyFord

Fun-Fun: This is our final non Patreon episode before Thanksgiving…..so we did what had to be done: the best of the best from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!

Dukes Review: As they said in Jurassic Park, Life Finds a Way. The universe has righted itself. The legal process of suing people until they sue you back for more, has worked. Bo and Luke are back in the General Lee and Coy and Vance have rode off into the sunset, never to be mentioned again. John Schneider and Tom Wopat may go down in history as the actors that set the precedent that would be used in film and TV forever going forward: bringing back a gone but beloved character. Remember Bobby Ewing on Dallas, or Han in the Fast and Furious? Ding ding ding! Also in this episode,  the Chevelle Cooter from Season 3 is back, but now it’s silver. And it has thermoquad carbs on it. 10 Corndogs!

Patreon Peeps, the year 2020 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and if you’d consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help. The $10 level will remain and we now have a brand new $20 level as well! K&F Show #169: Trebek and Connery SNL Tribute; Dukes of Hazzard S5E18 Review “Witness: Jesse Duke,” The Final Coy and Vance Episode!

Fun: Alex Trebek passed away last weekend and Sean Connery passed the week before. So….we did what needed to be done most, an SNL Celebrity Jeopardy throw-down!

Dukes Review: The last Coy and Vance episode is finally here. Oh, how I have waited for this day! Now, this isn’t a bad episode. In fact this episode has a number of themes that really set the stage for what the Dukes is all about. Self reliance, chivalry, open prayer, putting others needs ahead of your own, and jumping cars. And while I didn’t love Coy and Vance, I did like Byron Cherry and Chris Mayer. They were nice guys in an impossible situation. A situation that is about to end! (Vance never should have said the General was theirs. I never forgave him for that one.)

K&F Show #165: How Paint Scanning a General Lee REALLY Works; Dukes of Hazzard S5E15 Review “Ding, Dong, The Boss is Dead”

Holley is the official EFI source for Kibbe and Friends and is the PROUD sponsor of this episode! Congrats to Arrow West @eldest_arrow on Instagram for his recent LS swap into a ’83 Cutlass! His father Philip West @flannel_philip posted the details on Instagram, and we’re honored that they selected a Holley Terminator X system after hearing it described in our show. Way to go boys!

Dukes Review – S5E15: This episode is a clinic in what goes around, comes around. The entire show is a cartoonish version of basically the same episode from Season 2, but this time with flying coffins.  Boss still has to leap moving vehicles to convince people he’s dead. Not one, but two actors from previous episodes come back to play different characters, and the outfit the bad guy (girl) is wearing….is both sensational as well as now back in fashion (high waisted shorts with a belt.) Surprised her outfit actually stayed on, actually. Anyway, this is a repeat of a season 2 episode plot, a season 2 bad guy car, with a repeat of a season 3 set of characters, with a season 4 bad guy car. And the GL jumps a barn. It may be the best Coy and Vance episode ever.

K&F Show #164: MOPARTY Recap; Dukes of Hazzard S5E14 Review “Return of the Mean Green Machine”

Holley is the official EFI source for Kibbe and Friends and is the PROUD sponsor of this episode! Listen in for a full recap of the event including ALL of the details on Jamie Smith’s 2-wheels stunt and ramp-to-ramp jump. We’ll also have a number of interviews to bring you from Dylan McCool, Tim Wellborn, and more over on The MuscleCar Place. Here’s what you ned to know most: Gen III Hemi Swaps are THE cool thing to do! Thank you Holley!

The Mean Green Machine from Season 5 Episode 1 returns, which is a rare instance of a story arc on the Dukes. This episode….has legit – nay – GREAT – stunts in the form of two totally awesome stunts over moving vehicles. There is a reference of radio stations – which Bernie should like. There is a comically sized magnet involved that looks like something Wile E. Coyote would use. At long last, Boss Hogg finally uses a bazooka. The first time Vance Duke sees the Mean Green Machine he shoots dynamite at it. And the acting in this…..is not terrible. In fact, it’s tolerable. Cartoonishly charming, even. Chris Mayer and Byron Cherry are kind of getting into the swing of things. But, in just three episodes, they’ll be homeless and will never be mentioned again.

K&F Show #162: Bern’s Return and One Week to MOPARTY; Dukes of Hazzard S5E13 Review “The Revenge of Hughie Hogg”

Holley is the official EFI source for Kibbe and Friends and is the PROUD sponsor of this episode! As mentioned we will be onsite at their BRAND NEW MOPAR EVENT Sept 18-20 in Bowling Green. In addition they have released a brand new Gen III Hemi Sweepstakes to boot! Click on the link below to enter: https://bit.ly/Holley392-Sweepstakes

Dukes Review: S5E13 – The Revenge of Hughie Hogg. Once again, the Dukes have predicted the future. This entire episode reflects an election year in which the Dukes – led by family patriarch Uncle Jesse – have to decide between voting for the lesser of two evils. It has all of the moral deals we make with ourselves, complete with a campaign ad for Donald Trump and a dilapidated 4-door Impala that drops body panels on command.

K&F Show #161: Dukes Fan to Stunt Man: Interview with Stunt Driver Jamie Smith and MOPARTY Preview of His All New Crown Victoria General Lee!

This is a SPECIAL EDITION of the KF Show! Our star producer Bernie is home from the hospital and recovering so we decided to bring in Jamie Smith for a feature interview and discuss his path to stunt driving as well as his plans for MOPARTY. Jamie was once just a Dukes of Hazzard fan like the rest of us. He was inspired to be the “two wheel ski” guy after a discussion with Gary Baxley and had the desire to see it go further. This interview is the story of teaching himself to drive on two wheels, driving “BumbleBee” in the Transformers movie, and in prepping his Crown Vic General Lee #6 for the upcoming event at MOPARTY. He’ll be there to jump his GL – twice – and ski it as well! Why does he build Crown Vic’s instead of using real Chargers? Because….he’s a fan. He doesn’t want to kill another Charger!

K&F Show #156: Lyric Debate – Revved Up Like a Deuce; Dukes of Hazzard S5E10 Review “The Great Insurance Fraud”

Holley is the official EFI source for Kibbe and Friends and is the PROUD sponsor of this episode! Their Terminator Stealth system on my General Lee is killing it. There’s a BRAND NEW MOPAR EVENT listed on their website that you need to save the date for as well: Sept 18-20 in Bowling Green, KY. Hint – there’s a General Lee jump! https://www.moparty.com

Dukes Review: “The Great Insurance Fraud” Boss entered the second oldest profession – insurance sales. Similar in morals to the most oldest profession. If you get my drift. Anyway, a` Duke’s birthright is the ability to drive well. They can “hold their own” with anyone and they never give that up. Yet in this episode, Coy does. (Side note – Bo Duke would never have done that.) He did it because of pride – and a moral compass – but what’s interesting is this quickly turns into a theme we’ll later see be a major part of the 1986 Blockbuster movie Top Gun. Remember after Maverick kills Goose from showboating and feels super bad about it, and then Viper says to keep sending Maverick up? It ends like that. So I think Top Gun ripped off the Dukes, a Season 5 Cory and Vance episode no less.

Patreon Peeps, the year 2020 will be an important one for Patreon specifically, and we have decided to retire the $1 and $2 levels completely. If you’re still at those levels you can keep them – but if you’d consider jumping up to the $5 level it would sure help.

K&F Show #155: KibbeLee Can Autocross Sideways; Finnegan’s Favorite Summer Movie Review – Megaforce

Kibbe’s Trip To GoodGuys with Chevelle and Kibbe Lee: COVID-19 or not, the 2020 Good Guys Heartland Nationals event actually did happen….and it was awesome! I’ve heard rumors that #KibbeLee was given grief for having the flag on the roof. None of that was true…at least not to my face….but the event was not completely without incident. Overall, a car show was a safe place to enjoy the car. Listen in for details.

Movie Review: Hal Needham’s “Megaforce” This is a “rebroadcast” from Episode 36 of our review of the Hal Needam directed movie Megafoce. Finnegan suggested (more like insisted) that we do it. I (Kibbe) hated it then, and I hate it now. Anyway, here’s the good news: the movie has lots of crazy vehicles, a few funny lines, and stars Edward Mulhare who would go on to play “Devon Miles” from Knight Rider. Here’s the bad news: there’s really no other good news of note. The movie ends with a flying motorcycle on a green screen, and Barry Bostwick wears a spandex (or lycra?) suit with no regards for underwear. Finnegan gives it 8 lazer-guided corndogs. Kibbe gives is a generous 3. Hijinks Ensue.

Patreon Peeps, we will be at the Holley OPARTY event this September! Please come join us on the evening of September 18 to hang! Also, we would really love to grow our Patreon audience to the next level….because Lord knows that shows like ours are subject to lots of outside forces.

You can join in for as little as $5/month, but our higher levels come with fairly awesome benefits. The $10 level will remain and we now have a brand new $20 level as well! Kibbe’s Trip To Bobby Ore Motorsports: This is it! Kick back and listen in to every second of the experience that was Bobby Ore Motorsports Stunt Driving School. Can front wheel drive Ford ZX2’s really be fun? Answer – yes! Can Bobby Ore at age 71 drive better than anyone you’ve ever seen in your life? Yes! Did Kibbe FINALLY get to jump a car and put it on 2 wheels? NO….but 180’s, box 90’s, and reverse 180’s are all super fun!
