Dukes Review: This is the Season 5 finale episode that features “Bull” from the TV sitcom “Night Court.” It also features a section on forced marriage. Also ultralight aircraft. Meh. Its OK. The highlight might be one jump scene followed by a weird split second when you see a bunch or random people off camera. There appears to be some in car audio taken of the GL as well, which is awesome. 5 Corndogs.

Dukes Review: As they said in Jurassic Park, Life Finds a Way. The universe has righted itself. The legal process of suing people until they sue you back for more, has worked. Bo and Luke are back in the General Lee and Coy and Vance have rode off into the sunset, never to be mentioned again. John Schneider and Tom Wopat may go down in history as the actors that set the precedent that would be used in film and TV forever going forward: bringing back a gone but beloved character. Remember Bobby Ewing on Dallas, or Han in the Fast and Furious? Ding ding ding! Also in this episode, the Chevelle Cooter from Season 3 is back, but now it’s silver. Dukes Review: The last Coy and Vance episode is finally here. Oh, how I have waited for this day! Now, this isn’t a bad episode. In fact this episode has a number of themes that really set the stage for what the Dukes is all about. Self reliance, chivalry, open prayer, putting others needs ahead of your own, and jumping cars. And while I didn’t love Coy and Vance, I did like Byron Cherry and Chris Mayer. They were nice guys in an impossible situation. A situation that is about to end! (Vance never should have said the General was theirs. I never forgave him for that one.)

Dukes Review – S5E15: This episode is a clinic in what goes around, comes around. The entire show is a cartoonish version of basically the same episode from Season 2, but this time with flying coffins. Boss still has to leap moving vehicles to convince people he’s dead. Not one, but two actors from previous episodes come back to play different characters, and the outfit the bad guy (girl) is wearing….is both sensational as well as now back in fashion (high waisted shorts with a belt.) Surprised her outfit actually stayed on, actually. Anyway, this is a repeat of a season 2 episode plot, a season 2 bad guy car, with a repeat of a season 3 set of characters, with a season 4 bad guy car. And the GL jumps a barn. It may be the best Coy and Vance episode ever.

The Mean Green Machine from Season 5 Episode 1 returns, which is a rare instance of a story arc on the Dukes. This episode….has legit – nay – GREAT – stunts in the form of two totally awesome stunts over moving vehicles. There is a reference of radio stations – which Bernie should like. There is a comically sized magnet involved that looks like something Wile E. Coyote would use. At long last, Boss Hogg finally uses a bazooka. The first time Vance Duke sees the Mean Green Machine he shoots dynamite at it. And the acting in this…..is not terrible. In fact, it’s tolerable. Cartoonishly charming, even. Chris Mayer and Byron Cherry are kind of getting into the swing of things. But, in just three episodes, they’ll be homeless and will never be mentioned again.

Our star producer Bernie is home from the hospital and recovering so we decided to bring in Jamie Smith for a feature interview and discuss his path to stunt driving as well as his plans for MOPARTY. Jamie was once just a Dukes of Hazzard fan like the rest of us. He was inspired to be the “two wheel ski” guy after a discussion with Gary Baxley and had the desire to see it go further. This interview is the story of teaching himself to drive on two wheels, driving “BumbleBee” in the Transformers movie, and in prepping his Crown Vic General Lee #6 for the upcoming event at MOPARTY. He’ll be there to jump his GL – twice – and ski it as well! Why does he build Crown Vic’s instead of using real Chargers? Because….he’s a fan. He doesn’t want to kill another Charger!

Dukes Review: “The Great Insurance Fraud” Boss entered the second oldest profession – insurance sales. Similar in morals to the most oldest profession. If you get my drift. Anyway, a` Duke’s birthright is the ability to drive well. They can “hold their own” with anyone and they never give that up. Yet in this episode, Coy does. (Side note – Bo Duke would never have done that.) He did it because of pride – and a moral compass – but what’s interesting is this quickly turns into a theme we’ll later see be a major part of the 1986 Blockbuster movie Top Gun. Remember after Maverick kills Goose from showboating and feels super bad about it, and then Viper says to keep sending Maverick up? It ends like that. So I think Top Gun ripped off the Dukes, a Season 5 Cory and Vance episode no less.

Kibbe’s Trip To GoodGuys with Chevelle and Kibbe Lee: COVID-19 or not, the 2020 Good Guys Heartland Nationals event actually did happen….and it was awesome! I’ve heard rumors that #KibbeLee was given grief for having the flag on the roof. None of that was true…at least not to my face….but the event was not completely without incident. Overall, a car show was a safe place to enjoy the car. Listen in for details.
Movie Review: Hal Needham’s “Megaforce” This is a “rebroadcast” from Episode 36 of our review of the Hal Needam directed movie Megafoce. Finnegan suggested (more like insisted) that we do it. I (Kibbe) hated it then, and I hate it now. Anyway, here’s the good news: the movie has lots of crazy vehicles, a few funny lines, and stars Edward Mulhare who would go on to play “Devon Miles” from Knight Rider. Here’s the bad news: there’s really no other good news of note. The movie ends with a flying motorcycle on a green screen, and Barry Bostwick wears a spandex (or lycra?) suit with no regards for underwear. Finnegan gives it 8 lazer-guided corndogs. Kibbe gives is a generous 3. Hijinks Ensue.
