FEATURE INTERVIEWS:

Doctor Jamie Meyers and Dana Teague – The HPX:

In two weeks The HPX Expo (High Performance Expo) will start its inaugural run and all of the hard work and planning will be on display in Charlotte North Carolina. It is hosted by the North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA), will be held from June 3-5, 2025, at the Charlotte Convention Center. I asked Doctor Jamie Meyers and Dana Teague on one last time before the event to tell us what we can expect to see and experience in this unique trade show.

Doctor Jamie detailed how they brain stormed what they could do to help the industry to build up the high performance businesses. The idea of a trade show that was also an educational event located in the high performance capital of the nation was born and the hard work started on how to put it all together and bring it to the masses. Holding it in Charlotte was always in the plans but the summer time frame came from the idea of giving businesses a mid year check in to make sure they are on track for a great full 2025. There will be many seminars and learning opportunities from industry leaders like Tony Whatley talking about professional development and race car drivers Antron Brown and Chris Dyson speaking on what your business could look like in the next six months. Jeff Gordon the Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports and Jeff Brown the President of Hendrick automotive group will kick off the event with a general session seminar in the morning on how to grow your performance business.

The High Performance Expo is packing the event with forward thinking entrepreneurs and industry leaders from racing and high performance to flying cars, from OEM representatives to future customizable cheap transportation business builders. There will be interesting and informative people to listen to throughout the show. There is also the women’s empowerment seminars promoting females in the industry in the ever growing segment of women racers and business owners.

One of the highlights of the show is the recruiting hub made up of at least twelve high education institutions that will be bringing in students interested in a career in the high performance and racing industries and are looking to make a connection. Hendrick Motorsports in leading this opportunity to find new talent and grow the industry with a new enthusiastic work force. Those looking to enter the workplace are encouraged to bring a resume and a great attitude.

In racing news, Darrell and Michael Waltrip will be honored at The HPX with the North Carolina Achievement Motorsports Tribute Award, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to automotive racing. There will be other presentations and charity awards at the event by many well known people including Richard Petty revealing his “Outlaw” Dream Giveaway Car that will raise funds for New Beginning Children’s Homes.

If you would like to attend The HPX you can check out their page at TheHPX.com. You can register now and $5 will instantly be donated to NCMF General Scholarship fund that gives $2500 to qualified students aspiring to a career in the motorsports industry.
