Larry Callahan Pro-Touring Update:

The third quarter of the year is now nearly over, and that means it is time for another new Pro-Touring Update with Mr. Larry Callahan! This week we talk about the plans for his new garag/studio and what progress has been made. He has totally gutted the place and started with new wiring since there were at least sixteen different switches and circuits for lights and three did not even lead to lights anymore. He needed a reliable power source for all of the cameras and lights he will be adding to make it a great work area and video studio for future projects. The facilities will be awesome enough that guests and sponsors will want to visit and show off tools or work on vehicles and have professional results for posting to the internet. He plans to post more content on video platforms and at Pro-Touring.com so interested viewers can follow along.

We also covered recent events including the happenings at the UMI Motorsports Park Autocross Challenge. There was some very real racing and some cruel upsets based on very small mistakes that led to edge of the seat entertainment. Many of the names you know were not in the top of the list so check out the show for who made the cut this time. There were over $20,000 worth of prizes on the line!

GoodGuys Events Coming Up:

AutoMeter “Pacific Coast” Shootout Sep. 30 – Oct. 2, 2022 Del Mar, CA

“Fall” Shootout November 12-13, 2022 Pleasanton, CA

“Duel in the Desert” Shootout November 18-20, 2022 Scottsdale, AZ
SEMA News: The Pro-Touring SEMA Dinner is off for 2022. Larry does plan to attend SEMA and will be in negotiations with the hotel for the 20th dinner in 2023. The wheels are definitely in motion for a 2023 dinner!

As always, autocross and Pro-Touring events are featured at Pro-Touring.com Thanks Larry!

Holley Moparty – Sneek Peek Interviews!

We took the Kibbe and Friends show to the Holley MOPARTY event this past weekend ing Bowling Green, KY. It was FANTASTIC! While there we were able to great a number if one-on-one interviews with people that had neat cars and neat stories. This episodes features two in particular: Jesse Tackett with his 1970 “Kowalski” Challenger R/T Vanishing Point tribute car, Dennis Deepenbrock  with his ’65 Coronet. Both men were a treat to speak with. Look for more on the Kibbe and Friends social channels for both cars.

Jesse’s car functions just like a brand new Challenger R/T would have, but with the best combination never possible. It has a 4-speed and air conditioning, whereas the factory would only allow A/C on an automatic transmission car. (His 4-speed is set up to allow 3rd gear act as a1-to-1 and 4th is really overdrive). Photos below:

Dennis is 73 years old and is “slowing down” with his little ’65 Coronet. He runs solidly in the 12’s, and until we asked him to pop the hood we had NO idea there was a Gen 3 Hemi hiding in there! Photos below:

Dennis (pictured right) and his buddy couldn’t stop cracking each other up. They both loved the Coronet.
Dennis’ Coronet – note the clean install of the Gen III Hemi.
Dennis’s Coronet – note the use of the headlight delete (like the factory drag cars did).
Dennis’s Coronet – I’m a sucker for red interiors!
