FEATURE INTERVIEWS:
The Pro-Touring.com Update with Larry Callahan!
Larry Callahan is back! For 2021 Larry will be joining us quarterly in a feature interview to bring the latest Pro-Touring event information straight from Pro-Touring.com. Larry is the “OG” of the Pro-Touring social media movement and a dear friend. You can take what he says to the bank!
Upcoming Events: Larry was able to get a comprehensive list of events for this quarter and I have posted it below. He also said he would be adding links to it and hosting it on the Pro-Touring.com website. It is exciting to see so many events listed including many that are brand new while some events are older established events that are going to see a huge upswing in interest due to pent up frustration. It will be very interesting to see what new vehicles emerge freshly built and ready to race as well as old familiar vehicles with new updates bursting forth from sequestering garages. People are anxious to use their cars after a completely missed summer in 2020 and this year will be the one to watch and attend.
’55 Bel Air Update: Sometimes you have to have a plan for when you run out of time to do everything you want. Larry has that figured out and is moving forward with Plan B. He is adding enough goodies back to the original inline six cylinder power plant to make it run and drive nicely for the summer. This will also make room in the garage for MotiV8r which will soon come back from JCG and he is excited to get it back out on the track. Larry built an all new front runner drive system for the ’55, utilizing existing parts together with a custom one off mounting system to attach all of the late model goodness to the old school iron. A 165 amp alternator is being installed to power the technical madness that is sure to follow, and updated wiring to handle the power.
2021 SEMA Dinner Update: In an unprecedented move, Larry has cancelled the SEMA Dinner for 2021. Larry’s best guess is that SEMA Show attendance will still be low this year and in order to ensure safety the event will be postponed until 2022.
Thanks Larry for a glimmer of light ahead in 2021!
