This weeks show features Justin “CornDog” Cornette, an aficionado of Dodge Chargers overall, and the Dukes of Hazzard “General Lee” in particular. If you’ve ever spent a little time on Google looking up GL information, chances are you’ve already been referred to speak to Justin as he’s an expert in the field of identification of screen used Dukes of Hazzard General Lee’s. Like me, Justin has had a passion for that car that dates back to watching the TV show as a child. As you’ll learn in the show, a lot of his knowledge and insight into the screen used cars comes from his personal presence on the set of the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie. Since that time he’s truly become an insider and has been featured in magazines and online articles including a recent issue of the Mopar Collectors Guide.

During the show we dug into the details and data behind the 19 remaining General Lee’s that were still “alive” a few years after the TV series ended. Justin gave details, dates, and names of each car, specifying the one (or two) that continued their Hollywood careers as GL’s in the TV Reunion movies of the 1990’s all the way through the 2005 and 2007 Hollywood productions. He also gave stats on the new GL’s produced as well!

If you’re a geek into Hollywood car identification as I am, you’ll really enjoy the discussion. If not….you’ll enjoy learning more about how one simple muscle car has stayed popular for 45 years!

Justin’s personal vehicle is GL#4 which appeared in the 1997 and 2000 Dukes reunion movies, and served as a “buck” vehicle in the later Hollywood productions. He is in the process of a full restoration back to it’s pre-jump status.

You can contact Justin at his website Corndog05Dukes , or you can find him on the forums at CGLFC, DodgeCharger.com and pretty much anywhere General Lee’s are discussed. Email at corndog05@yahoo.com.

Thanks for the interview Justin….and for indulging me!
