Dukes of Hazzard Episode Review:
This episode has everything. Small pushbar Generals, egregious use of the concept of amnesia, Voice impersonation as good – or better than – AI, and a clearly directed passenger side entry of the General by Daisy that doesn’t seem helpful in any way…..other than for where the camera was placed if you get by gist. Bo gets amnesia by hitting his head on a rock. In turn Boss convinces him that he is his loving father, and that be needs Bo to be a good son and drive a load of moonshine through Chickasaw county. What’s unbeknownst to Bo but knownst to us that Sheriff Little is there waiting for him….because he hates moonshiners. This is a fun episode where there’s no point, there’s no lesson, and there’s no dramatic acting – in any way; it’s just just pure automotive escapism.

Christmas Dukes Review: S3E9 “The Great Santa Claus Chase”
K&F Show Summary:
Merry Christmas! Were pleased to bring you our favorite review on the only Dukes of Hazzard Christmas episode, S3E9 title the Great Santa Claus Chase. This review originally aired in KF Show #247 in 2022.
Christmas Dukes Review: Somehow, an episode that has next to no General Lee in it…..is so endearing and charming it must be due to Christmas magic! In this episode they choose to re-enact the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. This is the tale of “Scrooge Hogg” stealing Christmas trees from Hazzard citizens and the Duke boys and Crazy Cooter stealing them back to deliver them in Santa Claus suits. Not good enough? In a nod to childlike happiness, the three bad guys in the episode also wear Santa Claus suits….meaning there are 6 Santas onscreen at one time. When the bad guys in Santa suits get caught, Cletus calls them “Merry Men!” The Boars Nest is decorated, proving that Christmas decorations at dive bars make them extra cheery. Better yet, there are carols, hot chocolate, and this episode ends on a message of what Christmas is all about; unconditional forgiveness…..topped off by some jingle bells flying overhead by (possibly) a certain jolly old Elf.

Roadkill – Finale
As you have heard already the rumors circulating the closing of Motor Trend Productions are all true. Unfortunately the shows housed and produced by Motor Trend are no more. This does include “Roadkill,” its flagship and genre changing show. It’s a bi-product of being owned by a large conglomerate as well as being a niche of a niche of entertainment media. All episodes filmed not yet released will be aired over the winter of 2025/2025 but no further will be created.
We discussed the news of it all and and some point we’ll have Mike Finnegan our friend (and Kibbe and Finnegan show co-founder) on to chat about it. No matter what spin you put on it the reality of Roadkill both creating and changing the automotive space are complexly undeniable. David Frieburger and Mike Finnegan made a team that were the best of the best in automotive tom-foolery entertainment. We loved them too!
David Freiburger has given a good explanation the situation along with what’s next for the full band of Motor Trend characters (visit TheDrive.com for more on that). While none of us know whether Roadkill will ever return on a different platform, it does seem like the sun has set on it and this last piece of legacy automotive media is officially over. In the short term we know that everyone has moved on to YouTube (if they hadn’t already) and we can continue to have them in our lives there!

Thanksgiving Movie Review: “Tower Heist”
K&F Movie Summary: Tower Heist is the automotive Thanksgiving movie classic you didn’t know you were missing until now, especially if you’re Corndog! This movie stars a MASSIVE cadre os actors including Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Alan Alda, Casey Afflect, Tea Leoni, Mechael Pena, and Matthew Broderick. This is the tale of a group of not quite as cool as Oceans 11 people that get taken by a Ponzi scheme by Hawkeye from MASH. And then – to get their money back – they steal Steve McQueen’s Ferrari from the top of Trump Tower during the Thanksgiving Parade, all using a handy roof crane. You will laugh, you will squirm, and you will probably be looking up during the Thanksgiving Day Parade from here on out…..so you don’t get squished by a Ferrari made of gold. This movie is a forgotten gem that has everything going for it.

2024 Election Dukes Review Re-Review: S2E11 “The People’s Choice”
From Rob: We just got from SEMA 2024….and then Kibbe left again to head to an undisclosed location for an undisclosed reason. Listen in for this episode, direct from a hotel room! Good news: we had the episode. Bad news: with this setup there was no way to have a birthday game and we had to recycle a Dukes review. Bern and CD were (not) crushed. Enjoy!
K&F Show Summary: This is the Dukes of Hazzard episode that shows in America, democracy still works.. until the next episode when democracy will be forgotten, because in Season 2 long-lasting consequences only last exactly one episode. Smoke-show married mom “TC Rodgers” returns to Hazzard to run for county supervisor, a job held by Boss Hogg that has a number of privileges, including being the probation officer for Bo and Luke Duke. Bo and Luke help the smoke-show mom because 1) it’s the right thing to do, 2) they think she’s a smoke show, and 3) they do not know she’s a married mom. In helping her win an election they also commit several FCC violations and perform electronic miracles by communicating via CB radio to people on telephones! And you know in the Blue Brothers with they put a loudspeaker on the Bluesmobile? Well that bit came from this episode too. Anyway, the Smokeshow wins the election, her husband and kid show up, and in a week we’ll never hear from her again….just like most political candidates that promised you everything before Nov 5, 2024.

Poor Cleetus makes the mistake of being #MeToo’d by Daisy Dukes, and his heart has to pay the price until she finally confesses to using her sexuality for personal gain. Poor Cleetus. But, love know no boundaries – and just like Cleetus we all have to take the high road and go on to date a bank teller anyway. This episode features Sheriff Little and is the second episode after the shift to the wide push bar General Lee. Also noted in this episode, no-one suffered from food poisoning and was stricken with vomiting and diarrhea for 4 hours straight.

Happy Hazzard-o-ween! This isn’t a specifically dedicated Halloween episode….but it may as well be. Whilst Bo and Luke are hiding from Rosco they get naked and go skinny dipping…leaving their clothes in the General Lee. Seconds later the General is stolen by two crooked gamblers who jump the car (and the clothes) in the pond. Rosco and Enos assume it was Bo and Luke all along, find their clothes, assume they were dismembered, and hijinks ensue when Boss frames them for theft of ….something. Doesn’t matter what. Anyway, to clear themselves they pretend to still be dead and trick Rosco into believing their spirits inhabit the General Lee, which now glows in the dark and appears to drive by itself. Wrongs are righted and it’s nice, funand spooky Halloween episode all around.

This special bonus episode on The Muscle Car Place is brought to you live once again from the streets of Pontiac, Michigan! Our journeyman reporter Scott Stap was roadside at Woodard Avenue where the streets were closed and setup for LEGAL street drag racing at the annual RoadKill Nights event, presented by Dodge. Every year this event brings action, excitement, and new automotive experiences to Michigan (and visitors from other Midwestern states) automotive enthusiasts!
This episode is from “press day” where grudge match racers were introduced to reveal their drag race cars. Friday was a media only event and Scott was able to get his recorder and microphones in to talk to more Dodge insiders for a behind the scenes look at how the “donuts” of a muscle-car-loving OEM are actually. This was before Roadkill Nights opened to the public and there were a lot of people to talk to in a short period of time. He talked to old friends that have been on the show before as well as interviewing new guests that provided different angles and aspects of how Dodge designs and sells new muscle.
